In the name of God Amen.  The Nineteenth day of June One thousand eight
hundred and sixty two
I John Maddrell of Grenaby in the parish of Malew farmer being very
infirm and weak of body but of sound mind and memory thanks be given unto
God for the same; therefore calling unto mind the mortality of the body
knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make and ordained
this my last will and testament.  That is to say, principally and first of
all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it
and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial
at the discretion of my executor, nothing doubting but
at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the
Almighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath
pleased God to bless me in this life I give bequeath and dispose of
the same in the following manner and form.
I give and bequeath to my son John Maddrell the sum of one pound
sterling.
I give and bequeath to my son Paul Maddrell the sum of four pound
sterling.
I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Maddrell the sum of one pound sterling.
I give and bequeath to my son Robert Maddrell the sum of three pounds
sterling.
I give and bequeath to my grandson Jon Maddrell (son of my son William
Maddrell deceased) the sum of five shillings sterling.
I give and bequeath to my daughter in law (widow of my son William Maddrell)
Jane Maddrell the sum of one pound sterling.  I give and
bequeath to my granddaughter Margaret Maddrell (by my son William Maddrell
deceased) a feather bed with the bed clothes thereto belonging.
I give and bequeath to each of my grandchildren (by my son William Maddrell
deceased) Jane Maddrell, Elizabeth Maddrell, Isabella Maddrell, Anne
Maddrell, and Paul Maddrell the sum of one pound sterling.
I give and bequeath to each of my grandchildren ( my son Robert
Maddrell) Catherine Maddrell, Anne Maddrell, and Robert Maddrell the sum of
one pound  sterling.
I give and bequeath to each of  my grandchildren by my son George Maddrell)
Anne Jane Maddrell, George Maddrell and Catherine Maddrell the sum of one
pound sterling.
I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Margaret Maddrell (by my son George
Maddrell) a feather bed.
I give and bequeath to each of my grandchildren (by my son Paul
Maddrell)  John Maddrell and Jane Maddrell the sum of one pound sterling.
I give and bequeath to my niece Margaret Eliza Lloyd the sum of three pounds
sterling.
And lastly I hereby nominate constitute and ordain my son George
Maddrell residuary legatee and sole executor of this my last will and
testament.  And I hereby utterly disallow, revoke and annul all and every
other former testaments wills legacies  bequests and executors by me in any
ways before named willed bequeathed or ordained. - Ratifying and confirming
this and no other to be my last will and testament.

Robert Maddrell received five pounds 16 shillings and 8 pence 16  April
1869. Thomas Maddrell received £23 from George Maddrell executor of John
Maddrellıs will same date.
Margaret Eliza Lloyd received £3 sterling 29 Jul 1865.
Paul Maddrell received one pound British 8 Jul 1868.
Ann Maddrell daughter of Robert Maddrell of Grenaby received one pound 16
Aug 1869
John Maddrell son of Paul Maddrell received 12 Aug 1865 one pound
Jane Maddrell daughter of Paul Maddrell received one pound sterling l8
Nov 1865.
Paul Maddrell received 12 Aug 1865 £4 sterling.
