In the name of God Amen.
I Philip Caine of the parish of Lonan being of sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding at the making and execution hereof do make and
publish this paper writing as and for my last will and testament in manner
following that is to say.  I leave devise and bequeath unto my son John
Caine his heirs executor administrators and assigns my lands and premises
situated in the said parish of Lonan called Cretch Veg with the dwelling
houses and premises erected therein together with all my real
and personnel property whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be to be
possessed by him upon the decease of his mother Elizabeth Caine who
is to have possession with power to dispose of the household furniture
and cattle who is also to be entitled to the whole of the rents accruing
from such real property and the income arising from any personal property
for and during the term of her natural life.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Ann Caine the sum of one hundred
pounds to be paid by my said son when he obtains possession of
the said property and which said sum I hereby direct shall be a lien and
charge upon the said lands of Cretch Veg.
I further order and direct that the said lands of Cretch Veg shall also be
chargeable with the sum of fifty pounds the interest whereof at the rate of
five per cent shall be paid to my daughter Jane Looney for and during the
term of her natural life free from the control of her present or any future
husband with whom she may intermarry and upon her deceased the said sum to
be divided equally amongst her lawful issue.
I nominate and appoint my said son executor of this my will hereby revoking
all and every former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 19 day of
December One Thousand eight hundred and sixty three.      Philip Caine
Signed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last
will and testament in our presence who in his presence at his request
and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as
witnesses.

At a Chapter Court held in Douglas on the 13th day of May 1864
Thomas Caine one of the subscribing witnesses to the execution of the
foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of
Philip Caine deceased having made oath upon the Holy Evangelists that
said Philip Caine the testator when of sound and disposing mind memory and
understanding duly signed and executed the same as and for his last will and
testament in his presence and in presence of John Kewley the other
subscribed witness thereto.  John Caine the executor in said will named is
therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the same
and to administer all and singular the personal estate and effects of said
deceased according to law by paying the just debts and funeral expenses of
the deceased and the legacies contained in this will so far forth as
the goods and effects will thereto extend and the law bind him and to return
into the Archdeacon's Registry a full and true and perfect
inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects with an
accurate account of his administration thereof when thereunto lawfully
required and to these ends he hath given pledges namely Thomas Caine of the
town of Douglas and Elizabeth Caine widow of the parish of Lonan
who have entered into and executed the usual bond in the presence of the
court.
