This last Will and Testament of
James Killey of Douglas Street in the 
Town of Peel Mariner who being weak in
body but of sound mind memory and 
understanding Doth make publish and
declare in manner and form following
that is to say 
              I leave and bequeath unto 
my six children namely William, James, Elizabeth, Catherine and Mary
Anne the sum of five shillings each
             I leave and declare to my 
wife Catherine for and during her natural
life my right title and interest in 
and to that dwelling house situate in the
said street which I inherited from my 
brother William Killey of the said town
tailor called “Billy Gawnes house” and
which was purchased by him from Henry
Gawnes Catherine Gawnes Thomas Cottier
and Harriet Cottier on or about the 4th
of February 1852 and on her decease to
be possessed by my heir at law
             I hereby nominate constitute 
and appoint my said wife Catherine
whole and sole Executrix of this my last
will hereby leaving and bequeathing to her
all the rest of my personal estate of every 
description and denomination and where
soever situate. In witness whereof I have 
hereunto subscribed my name this the ninth?
day of April one thousand eight hundred

At a Chapters Court held in Peel
Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of the Isle of Man and Diocese of Sodor and Mann 
hath this day granted adminon noting the will annexed of 
James Killey in trust for all concerned therein
And whereas John Teare of Peel
in the Parish of German and John Morrison
of Peel in the Parish of German
have agreed to become pledges for the due and faithful Administration 
of the said Estate by the said James Killey according to law.

Now, Know All Men by these Presents, that we, the said John Teare and 
John Morrison hereby bind and oblige ourselves, jointly and severally, 
and our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, firmly by these presents, 
as pledges for the said James Killey
that he shall well and truly administer, all and singular, the Personal 
Estate and Effects of the said deceased according to Law, And in his default, 
we bind ourselves, and each of us, for the whole, our Heirs, Executors, 
and Administrators, to be answerable and responsible to the said Court, 
and to all parties interested in the said Estate and Effects, or the 
Administration thereof in the place and stead of the said James Killey.

   Witness our subscriptions, this 24th day of April in the Year of our Lord
One Thousand and Eight Hundred and sixty six,

The foregoing Bond and Obligation was duly signed and
delivered, and also acknowledged by the executing par-
