27 Malew
In the name of God Amen.
I John Hudson and Jane my wife of Malew Street Castletown make this
our last will and testament.
First we commend our souls to God and our bodies to a Christian burial. And
we give and bequeath to William our eldest son five pounds sterling.
To Charles our son five pounds sterling.
To George our son ten pounds sterling.
To John our son ten pounds sterling.
To Robert our son seventy pounds sterling a feather bed bedstead and bedding
with the stock of leather remaining in which way soever unsold.
To Robert, Mary, and Jane all our houses gardens and premises situate in
Malew Street Castletown to be equally divided between them.
Or if any of them leave the family by marriage or any other cause those
remaining may by the payment of thirty pounds British dispossess him or her.
We leave the whole in possession until the death of the last survivor of
us testators.
And we appoint Mary and Jane our daughters sole joint executors of all
the rest of goods monies and effects of whatever nature or description
excluding all former joint wills and testaments here unto we subscribe
our names this first day of July 1862 in presence of
Thomas Keig and James Lewin

At a Chapter Court held in Castletown on the 31st day of May 1867.
Mary Hudson and Jane Hudson spinsters daughters of the testator the
executrixes therein named are therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil
and execute said will with pledges Thomas Keig of Eryestein in the
parish of Arbory and George Hudson of Castletown in the parish of Malew who
have entered into and executed the usual bond in the presence of the court.

Whereas on the 1st day of July 1862 I Jane Hudson of Malew Street Castletown
and John Hudson my deceased husband made and executed a joint will which was
duly on the decease of the said John Hudson proved
as his will and probate granted to my daughters Mary Hudson and Jane Hudson.
And I confirm such will and ratify all the provisions thereof and I
declare that this shall be a codicil to such will. With regards to my
property of which I may die possessed which may have been or which
may be acquired by me since the decease of my said husband I leave and
bequeath the same to my said daughters Mary and Jane and my son Robert
Hudson equally between them.
As witness my subscription this 3rd day of May 1887. Jane Hudson.

At a District Probate Session held at Castletown on the 11 May 1891 The
annexed paper writings made respectively on the 1st day of July 1862
and the 3rd day of May 1887 having been proved to be respectively the last
will and testament and a codicil thereto of Jane Hudson late of
Malew parish in the town of Castletown. Widow decease who died on the
27 day of March 1891. Mary Ann (in the will called Mary) Hudson and
Jane Hudson both of the town of Castletown daughters of the testatrix the
executrices named in the said will are therefore sworn well and
truly to fulfil and execute the said will and codicil and to administer the
personal estate of the said deceased according to law.
