In the name of God Amen.
I Philip Cowley of the parish of Jurby late of the parish of Lezayre being
weak in body but of sound disposing mind memory judgement and understanding
do make publish and declare this my last will and
testament in the following manner:
First I commit my soul to God and my body to decent Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my son John Cowley the sum of  five
shillings British as legacy.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath a legacy according to law to any person or
persons attempting to invalidate or make void this my last will and
testament.
Fourthly and lastly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margrett the
wife of Thomas Cubbon all the rest and remainder of all my monies chattels
goods and effects and credits of whatsoever kind nature description or
denomination whom I constitute nominate and ordain and appoint her my said
daughter Margrett the wife of Thomas Cubbon to be whole and sole executrix
of this my last will and testament in testimony whereof I subscribe or
caused to have subscribed my name and mark this the 25th day of May in the
yaers of our Lord 1864.         Philip Cowley his mark X Witnessed by

At a Chapter Court held in Ramsey on the 10th day of May 1867.  Thomas
Cubbon in right of his wife Margaret Cubbon the executrix  with Thomas
Cowley of Sartfield in the parish of Jurby and William Lace of
Ballaskelly in the parish of Andreas who have entered into and executed the
usual bond in the presence of the court.
