In the name of God Amen.
I Cæsar Cain of the town of Peel, in the parish of German, being weak in
body but of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding, do make,
publish, and declare this my last will and testament in manner
following:
I commend my soul to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and my body to decent
Christian burial.
Item: I leave and bequeath unto my son Cæsar Cain the sum of thirty pound
sterling to be paid to him on his attaining the age of twenty one years, but
without interest. And also whatever legacy or other effects may be left to
me by, or fall to me on the decease of my mother Eleanor Cain, principal and
interest, as the case maybe. But should my said son died before his
attaining the full age of twenty one years, then and in
that case the aforesaid sum of thirty pounds shall belong to my widow
and executrix herein named.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my beloved wife Jane Cain my sole and
only executrix of this my last will, hereby making her my residuary
legatee of all my moneys goods and effects where ever found or by whatever
name distinguished, together with the yearly interest upon the above named
thirty pounds herein bequeathed to my son.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name, this twenty
fifth day of September one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven. Cæsar
