In the name of God amen I Charles Kaighin of Kerrow Glass in 
the parish of Michael being of sound mind memory and understanding 
do make this my last will and testament as follows viz –

In the first place I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.

Secondly I leave to all cravers the sum of six pence each. 

I leave to my son Hugh Kaighin the sum of six pounds. 

I leave to my sons John and Charles the sum of two shillings and six pence each. 

I leave to my daughter Cathrine the wife of Daniel Lowey the sum of fifty pounds.

I leave to my daughter Ann the wife of William Fargher the sum of forty pounds. 

I leave to my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Edward Corkill the sum of forty pounds. 

I leave to William Kaighin who now lives with me the sum of twenty pounds. 

Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my dearly beloved wife 
Margaret Kaighin whole and sole executrix of this my last will 
and testament and residuary legatee of the rest residue and remainder 
of all my goods and effects cash credits moveable and immoveable 
of what nature kind or denomination soever they be ratifying and 
confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament and 
in confirmation therof I have caused and set my mark to my name 
this first day of December one thousand eight hundred and 
sixty six. 1st Dec 1866

At a Chapter Court held at Peel on the 30th day of October 1868 
John Quayle and John Kaighin the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing paper 
writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Charles Kaighin deceased 
having made oath upon the Holy Evangelists that said Charles Kaighin the 
testator when of sounds and disposing mind memory and understanding duly 
signed and executed the same as and for his last will and testament in 
their presence - Margaret Kaighin widow the relict of the said deceased the 
sole executrix therein named is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and 
execute the same according to law by paying the just debts and funeral expenses 
of the deceased and the legacies contained in his will so far forth as his 
goods and effects will thereto extend and the law bind her. And to return 
into the Episcopal Registry of the Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann - a 
full true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said estate and 
effects with an accurate account of her acts and proceedings in the premises 
when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends she hath given pledges 
namely John Quayle of Ballacowin and John Kaighin of BallaQuine both in the
parish of Michael who have entered into and executed the usual bond in the 
presence of the court.
