At a Chapter Court held at Peel on the 30th day of April 1869
It being proved that Ann Shimmin late of Croit ny harra in the 
Parish of Patrick, Widow, on or about the 16th day of March 1869 
departed this life Intestate, This Court hath Decreed James 
Caugherty of said parish of Patrick, a son-in-law to deceased 
Administrator of All and Singular the personal Estate and Effects 
of said deceased, and accordingly he is sworn well and truly 
to administer the said Estate and Effects of the said deceased 
by paying her just debts and funeral expenses so far forth as 
the said Estate and Effects will extend and the Law bind him 
and distributing the residue thereof according to Law, and to 
return to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full, true, 
and perfect Inventory thereof, with an accurate account of his 
acts and proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully 
required; and to these ends he hath given pledges, namely, 
James Killip of  Ballakaighin in the Parish of German and 
Thomas Quayle of Peel in the Parish of German who have entered 
into and executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court.
Decretum Est

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Isle of Diocese of 
Sodor and Mann hath this day granted Administration of the 
Estate of Ann Shimmin late of Croit na Harra in the Parish 
of Patrick deceased to James Caugherty a son-in-law of deceased.
And Whereas James Killip of Ballakaighen in the Parish of German 
and Thomas Quayle of Peel in the Parish of German have agreed 
to become Pledges for the due and faithful Administration of 
the said Estate by the said James Caugherty according to Law.
Now know all men by these Presents that we, the said James Killip 
and Thomas Quayle hereby bind and oblige ourselves jointly and 
severally and our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, firmly 
by these presents, as pledges for the said James Caugherty 
that he shall well and truly administer, all and singular, 
the personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased according 
to Law. And in his default we bind ourselves, and each of us , 
our Heirs, Executors, amd Administrators to be answerable and 
responsible for the whole to the said Court, and to all Parties 
interested in the said Estate and Effects, or the administration 
thereof, in the place and stead of the said James Caugherty.
Witness our Subscriptions, this 30th day April in the Year of 
our Lord, One thousand Eight Hundred and sixty nine
