The last will and testament of William Killip
I William Killip of the Cleyeen in the parish of Michael being in good
health and of a sound mind memory and understanding but knowing the
uncertainty of life do make my last will and testament in way and
manner following.
First I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
2nd I leave and bequeath unto my son William Killip of Shoughlage my
clock which stands in my house and ten shillings.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth the wife of John Corlett of
Barregarrow the sum of fifteen pounds sterling.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Nessie the wife of Daniel Kneale of
Barrow in Furness Lancashire the like sum of fifteen pounds.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the wife of Levi Roberts of North
Wales the sum of fifteen pounds.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Esther Isabella Killip the sum of
fifteen pounds.
I will and that all promissory notes which I may have given or granted to
any person or persons or may hereafter give or grant shall become incumbent
or paid out of my lands and premises and not upon my goods and chattels
which I soley bequeath to my executrix
I leave my wife Isabella sole and whole executrix of all my monies
chattels and goods and likewise to enjoy and get the benefit of my half
or moiety of my lands and premises and of the buildings thereon during
her natural life if so be that she continued in widowhood if otherwise
my lawful heir to possess it as soon as she will marry out of my name.
My wife not to encumber my half by mortgage or security.
I will that my lawful heir do possess and enjoy all my lands and
premises after my wife's death and to pay all the foregoing or aforesaid
legacies upon possession the same and in case my son William depart
this life or die before becomes entitled to said lands having no lawful
issue or child then I will that my then living lawful heir do possess the
same by paying the before mentioned legacies unto my daughter and the sum of
ten pounds more to each and every one of them.
I do declare this to be my last will and testament this the twelvth day
of May one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine 1869.

At a Chapter Court held at Peel on the 20th day of May 1870. Isabella
Killip sworn executrix with pledges being William Corlett of the Village
and William Killip of Shoghlague in KM.
Probate granted 20 May 1870 - Mary Roberts departed this life leaving Levi
Roberts her husband and the sum of fifteen pounds paid him on 29th of Sept
1888.
James Caine and Esther Isabella his wife received 15 pounds legacy 26th day
of June 1888.
