This is the last will and testament of me Evan Mylchreest of the town of
Douglas Druggist.
I leave and devise to my son Thomas George Mylchreest my lands called
Wattleworth's Lands and all my real estate in the parish of Lezayre To
Hold to Him during his natural life and from his decease I leave the same
to such person as shall then be my own maternal heir at law and to the heirs
and assigns of such person subject to a right of dower in the
widow of my said son as out of an estate of inheritance and subject to such
leases thereof as my said son may grant at reasonable rents and for terms or
a term not exceeding in duration twenty one years from the granting thereof.
I leave and devise all the rest of my real estate including the plots of
land bought by me at Public Auction opposite my son's house at Marina in
Douglas and all my personal estate and effects to my sister in law Mary Ann
Firth and my friend Thomas Leece of Douglas outfitter hereinafter called my
executors and to the survivor of them and the heirs executors admors and
assigns of such survivor in trust to hold the said real estate and to
convert into cash and realize all my personal estate except as herewith
marked and after thereout paying my debts and funeral
expenses to invest the net residue on security and to apply the income
and interest of such real estate and residue of personal estate for the
benefit of my said son until he attains the age of twenty one years and
on my said son attaining that age in trust to make over and assign to him
and his heirs exors admors and assigns such real and personal estate and all
accumulations of rents and income thereof provided that my said
exors are hereby directed to spare  no expense on the maintenance and
education of my said son my desire being that he shall be provided with a
first class education and that when he shall attain the proper age my
executors shall prefer King William College for such education in less
they shall have good reason to prefer some other good school of the same
class.  Subject to their directions I leave to the directions of my sons
the expenditure of the rents and income of my said  real and personal
estate.
I except from the foregoing bequest the following articles of furniture
which I desire my executors to keep unsold for my said son vizt the
piano, music stool, my plate and jewelry,  a large work box and work
chair the drawing room mirror, pictures, and books, ottoman and in his
and the drawing room chimney piece and side board ornaments and the glass
shaded china and ornaments and the portion of the bed linen and I also
except the likeness of the late Thomas Mylchreest of Ballagarraghyn German
which I leave to my brother Thomas.
I direct my executors before disposing of my stock in trade fixtures and
good will of house and shop to have a valuation made of the same and to give
the first offer of the same at such valuation to my foreman Charles Cain and
if he accepts to sell the same to him on such terms of audit as my executors
may think advisable.
And in case my said son Thomas George Mylchreest shall  die under the
age of twenty one years then I direct my said executors to sell and
dispose of the said real estate hereinbefore devised to them by public
auction or private sale and to divide the proceeds thereof together with the
said residue of my said personal estate equally  amongst the children then
living of my two sisters namely Elizabeth Gell widow of John Gell deceased,
and Eunice Gell the late wife of Capt Philip Gell now of London excepting
always such one of such children as shall then be my maternal heir at law
and entitled to succeed to my said lands in Lezayre under
this my will.
My executors are hereby fully empowered to give receipts for any part of my
real or personal estate sold by them under the trusts hereof and no
purchaser shall be bound to see to the application thereof.
I hereby direct my trustees to reimburse themselves all reasonable
costs and expenses of carrying out the trusts hereof and declare that they
shall not be liable for any involuntary losses or the failure of any
security on which they may invest any of the said trust funds.
I hereby nominate and appoint my said sister in law and the said Thomas
Leece to be my executors and to be guardians of my said son and I hereby
recommend their appointment by the court of Chancery as such guardians and I
hereby revoke all other wills made by me.  In witness whereof I
have hereunto subscribed my name this 28th day of September 1870.

At a Special Eccl Court held at Douglas on the 21st day of November
1870.
Thomas Leece and Mary Ann Firth spinster the executors named sworn with
pledges being Thomas Mylchreest of Ballagarraghan in the parish of German
and Henry Siddons of Pulrose in the parish of Braddan who have entered into
and executed  the usual bond in the presence of the court.
