Lonan In the Name of God Amen
1870 I Thomas Cowin of Baldooin in the parish
68 of Lonnan taking into consideration the uncertainty
Episcopal of this transitory life and the certainty of
death being of a sound disposing mind and
memory do hereby make this my last Will
and Testament Firstly I commend my soul into
the hands of Almighty God who gave it and
my body I recommend to the earth by a decent
Christian burial according to the discretion of
my Executrix
And for my worldly goods I dispose
of in the following manner
I leave the one half of my House
(that is the parlour and the loft above it) and one
half of the garden to my two daughters namely
Ann Cowin and Cathrine to be equally enjoyed
between them
I leave the other half of the House
and the other half of the garden to my
daughter Margaret Cowin
The said House and garden being a part
of the quarterland of Baldooin in the Parish
of Lonnan bounded on the north by the
properties of James Cowin, John Kewley and Thomas
Kennish on the east by the property of Thomas
Kennish on the south by the road leading
from Laxey to Ammagary and on the west
by the property of James Cowin and John Kewley
I also leave to the said Margaret Cowin
all the furniture that is in the kitchen
I leave the sum of sixpence to any
person or persons who may lawfully have
a claim in this my last Will and Testament
Lastly I appoint and ordain my daughter
the aforesaid Margaret Cowin to be whole and sole
Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
And I do hereby revoke disallow and
disannul all Wills and Testaments by me
heretofore made declaring this and no other
to be my last Will and Testament in
witness whereof I hereunto set my mark
this the twentieth day of June one thousand
eight hundred and seventy
