In the name of God Amen,
I Isabella Taggart of James Street in the town of Douglas being of sound
mind and memory and understanding do make publish and declare this my last
will and testament in manner following.
I commit my soul to God and my body to decent Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my grand daughter Catherine Jane Teare my best
feather bed and bedding, my best paisley shawl, my watch guard and seal
attached thereto.
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Eliza Faragher wife of John Faragher of
Athol Street in this town the whole of my household furniture,
wearing apparel; ready money, goods, and chattels, and all other my real and
personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever for her own and sole
absolute use and benefit according to the nature and quality of the same
thereof respectively subject to giving my grandson Charles Albert Teare a
full suit of black clothes upon my decease and to the payment of my just
debts funeral and testamentary expenses and charges and I do hereby appoint
my said daughter sole executor of this my will
and hereby revoke all other wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Nineteenth day of March
on the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy four.

Signed published and acknowledged by the said testator as and for her
last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her
request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witnesses hereto:
Isaac Milburn, 31 Fort Street Douglas.
William Hogg, 40 Fort Street Douglas
At a Chapter Court held at Douglas on the 30th day of April 1874.
Isaac Wilburn and William Hogg the subscribing witnesses to the
execution of the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will
and testament of Isabella Taggart late of James Street in the town of
Douglas deceased having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the said
Testatrix Isabella Taggart when of sound and disposing mind memory and
understanding duly signed and acknowledged the same as and for her last will
and testament in their presence and that they at the same time in
the presence of the said testatrix and of each other subscribe the same
in attestation thereof John Faragher husband of Eliza Faragher the daughter
of the deceased the executrix in said will named and in right of his wife is
therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the said
will and to administer all and singular the personal estate and effects
of the said deceased according to law by paying the just debts and
funeral expenses of the deceased and the legacies contained in her will
as for forth as her estates and effects will thereto extend and the law bind
him and to return to the Archdeacon¹s Registry a full true and
perfect inventory of all and singular the estate and effects with an
accurate account of his administration thereof when thereunto lawfully
required and to these ends he hath given pledges namely Isaac Milburn
and William Faragher both of the town of Douglas who have entered into and
executed the usual bond in the presence of the court.
