This is the last will and testament of Catharine Forbes of the town of
Douglas spinster.
Wherein under the will of Edward Forbes and late father I am entitled to
a said interest now laid out at interest for my benefit in the name of
Francis Matthews and late nephew at my father in whose place and law Francis
Oates Matthews has been appointed as trustee and which said
paid of money I leave forever to leave as I like I do therefore give and
bequeath the same as follows:
I give and bequeath to Mary Forbes of Douglas widow of George Forbes a sum
of one hundred pounds.
I give and bequeath to my niece Maria Skillicorn wife of Wm a sum of
sixty pounds.
I give and bequeath to my niece Emily Dinwoody wife of William
Dinwoody a sum of twenty pounds.
I give and bequeath to my niece Catherine Moore a sum of twenty pounds.
I give and bequeath to my niece Emma Moore a sum of twenty pounds.
I give and bequeath to the Minister of St Barnabas Church in the town of
Douglas to be laid out for the benefit of the school erected with that
church a sum of Twenty pounds.
I give and bequeath to the Treasurer of the Bible Society for the benefit
of the said Society a sum of ten pounds.
I give and bequeath to the Treasure of the Record Society for the benefit of
the said Society a sum of ten pounds.
I give and bequeath to the Treasurer of the Church Missionary Society for
the benefit of the said Society a sum of ten pounds.
I give and bequeath to the trustees of the House of Industry in this town
a sum of ten pounds which sum it is my wish shall be laid out at interest
and the amount interest applied towards the support of the said house.
I give and bequeath to the Treasurer of the Medical Dispensary of Douglas
for the benefit of the said dispensary in sum of ten pounds.
I give and bequeath to the Treasurer of the --- of Douglas  the benefit of
the said --- a sum of ten pounds.
I give and bequeath my watch to my nephew the said Thomas Oats Matthews.
I give and bequeath to my niece Mary Maria Mathews.
All the residue of my money which will remain after payment of my
debts and funeral expenses and also my furniture and other personal property
I give and bequeath the same equally among my five nephews
and nieces namely the said Francis Oates Matthews, Arthur Matthews, the said
Mary Eunice Matthews, Edith Matthews and Alicia Matthews.
It is my desire that I may be interred in my fatheršs vault in Kirk
Braddan Churchyard.
I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Francis Oats Matthews
the executor of this my will hereby revoking all found or other wills by me
at any time made and declaring this alone to be my last will
and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this      day of March
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven. (1867).

Oates Matthews sworn executor with Emily Eunice Matthews widow and Arthur
Matthews both of Glenmoar in the parish of German as pledges.
