Maughold 1876 No 95 The humble petition of Isabella Radcliffe a widow. Sheweth: That petitioner's late husband John Radcliffe departed this life on the 17th day of April last intestate That it is necessary that Administration of his Estate should be granted to some fit and proper person. That the next of kin of the deceased are his widow the petitioner and his children namely John Radcliffe, Laxey, Ann Jane Logan wife of Edward Logan off Island, William Radcliffe at Whitehaven, Mary Ellen Radcliffe and James Radcliffe in Maughold also three children under age. Wherefore petitioner prays a hearing hereof and that your Worship may be pleased to grant administration of the estate of the said John Radcliffe to your petitioner or to some other fit and proper person and she will pray John C Lamothe for petitioner Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at an Eccl Court to be held at Ramsey on Thursday next the 18th day of May instant at 10 O'clock in the forenoon whereof all proper parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice. Given at Ramsey this 15th May 1876 At an Eccl Court held at Ramsey on the 18th of May 1876 Upon hearing this petition in the presence of the parties or their advocates and it being proved that John Radcliffe late of Dullan in the parish of Maughold on or about the the 17th day of April departed this life intestate. This court hath decreed Isabella Radcliffe, widow, the relict of the said deceased Administratrix of all and singular the personal estate and effects of said deceased and accordingly she is sworn well and truly to administer the said estate and effects of the said deceased by paying his just debts and funeral expenses so far forth as the said Estate and effects will extend and Law bind her and distributing the residue thereof according to Law, and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full, true, and perfect Inventory thereof, with an accurate account of her administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required; and to these ends she hath given pledges namely, John Radcliffe of Laxey in the parish of Lonan and Daniel Robert Goldsmith of Laxey in the parish of Lonan, who have entered into and executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court.
