In the name of God Amen
I Daniel Castle of Glencrutchery in the Parish of Conchan Farmer being of sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding of the making and execution hereof do hereby make and publish this paper
writing as and for my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. –
I direct my Executor hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may me after my decease to pay and
discharge all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses. –
I leave devise and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Castle the sum of Six hundred pounds. –
I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Daniel Castle of the Town of Douglas the sum of Eighty Pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath unto my son Robert Castle of Pontiac Oakland County Michigan United States
North America the sum of Eighty pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath unto my Grandson Joseph Castle the sum of Eighty pounds.
I leave devise and bequeath unto my Granddaughters Margaret Castle and Emily Castle the sum of Twenty
pounds each.
I leave devise and bequeath unto Daniel Castle Hodgson son of Joseph Hodgson late of the Town of
Douglas the sum of Ten pounds. –
I leave devise and bequeath unto my Grandsons James Castle and Thomas Castle the sum of Ten pounds
each. –
As to the rest residue and remainder of my property both real and personal wheresoever situate I leave
devise and bequeath the same unto my eldest Son James Castle who resides with me and do hereby
nominate constitute and appoint my said son James Castle sole Executor of this my Will and do hereby
revoke and annul all and every former Will or Wills by me at anytime heretofore made and executed In
Witness whereof I have herewith subscribed my name this Fifteenth day of February One thousand
eight hundred and seventy six 1879 –

At an Ecclesiastical Courst held at Douglas on the 30th day of March 1876.
Henry Kellett junior and William Kellett the subscribing witnesses to the execution of the foregoing paper
writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Daniel Castle, late of Glencrutchery in the parish
of Conchan Farmer, deceased, who died on or about the 21st day of March 1876 – having made Oath on
the Holy Evangelists that said testator Daniel Castle when of sound and disposing mind memory and
understanding duly signed and acknowledged the same as and for his last Will and Testament in their
presence and that they at the same time in the presence of the said Testator and of each other subscribed
the same in attestation thereof – James Castle, a Son of the Deceased the Executor in said Will named is
therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute said Will and to administer All and Singular the
personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased according to Law – by paying the just debts and funeral
expenses of the said Deceased and the Legacies contained in his said Will so far forth as his said Estate
and Effects will thereto extend and the Law bind him – and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this
Diocese of Sodor and Mann a full true and perfect inventory of All and Singular the said Estate and
Effects with an Accurate account of his Aministration thereof when thereunto lawfully required And to
these ends he hath given pledges Namely Daniel Castell and George Starkey both of the town of Douglas,
in the parish of Braddan, who have entered into and executed the usual Bond in the presence of the Court –
