The humble petition of Anne Coffey,
William Coffey, Eleanor Coffey, Hugh
Coffey, William Cain and Eliza Cain
(formerly Coffey his wife), Thomas
Barron and Ann Barron (alias Coffey)
his wife, William Kneale and Maria
Jane Kneale (formerly Coffey) his
wife and Henry Cannell and Isabella
Mary Cannell (formerly Coffey) his wife
Sheweth
That Hugh Coffey late of the parish of
Ballaugh departed this life on the
fifteenth day of December instant
Intestate and it is necessary that
Administration of his Estate and
effects should be granted to some
fit and proper person.
That petitioners who are the only next
of kin of the said Hugh Coffey deceased
on this Isle are desirous that Administration
of his Estate should be granted to your
petitioner Anne Coffey the widow of deceased.
Wherefore petitioners pray a hearing
hereof and that Administration of the
said Estate may be granted to the
said Anne Coffey and petitioners will
ever pray.

Ordered that this Petition do come on to be heard at
an Ecclesiastical Court to be held at Ramsey on Friday
this 29th day of December 1876 at 11am whereof all
proper parties and persons are to have due notice.
Given at Ramsey this 22nd day of December 1876.

Diocese of Sodor and Mann
At an Ecclesiastical Court held at Ramsey on the 22nd day
of December 1876 upon hearing this petition in the presence
of the parties or their Advocates and
It being proved that Hugh Coffey, late of the Village in
the Parish of Ballaugh, on or about the 15th day of December
1876 departed this life & & & & & Intestate.
This Court hath decreed Ann Coffey, Widow, the Relict of
said deceased Administratrix of All and Singular the
personal Estate and Effects of said deceased and accordingly
she is sworn well and truly to administer the said Estate
and Effects of the said deceased by paying his just debts
and funeral expenses so far forth as the said Estate and
Effects will extend and the Law bind her and distributing
the residue thereof according to Law and to return to the
Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full, true and perfect
Inventory thereof, with an accurate account of her
administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required:
and to these ends she hath given pledges, namely William
Coffey of Ramsey in the Parish of Maughold and Hugh Coffey
of the Village in the Parish of Ballaugh who have entered
into and executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court.

Whereas, the Ecclesiastical Court of this Isle and Diocese of
Sodor and Mann hath this day granted Letters of Administration
of the Estate of Hugh Coffey late of the Village in the Parish
of Ballaugh deceased to Ann Coffey Widow.
And Whereas, William Coffey of Ramsey in the Parish of MAughold
and Hugh Coffey of the Village in the Parish of Ballaugh have
agreed to become Pledges for the due and faithful Administrations
of the said Estate by the said Ann Coffey according to Law.
Now, know all Men by these Presents, that we, the said William
Coffey and Hugh Coffey hereby bind and oblige ourselves, jointly
and severally, and our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators,
firmly by these presents, as pledges for the said Ann Coffey that
she shall well and truly administer, all and singular, the
Personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased, according to Law.
And in her default we bind ourselves, and each of us, our Heirs,
Executors, and Administrators, to be answerable and responsible
for the whole to the said Court, and to all parties interested in
the said Estate and Effects, or the administration thereof, in
the place and stead of the said Ann Coffey.
Witness our Subscriptions this 22nd day of December in the Year of
our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy six.

At an Ecclesiastical Court held at Ramsey on the 22nd day of
December 1876. The forgoing Bond and Obligation was duly signed
and delivered and also acknowledged by the executing parties
to be their proper Act and Deed.
