This is the Last Will and Testament of me William Kaye of the Cronkmoar in the Parish of Patrick.  
This eleventh day of May one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight.

I leave and bequeath to my wife Ellen Kaye all my personal estate money's chattels goods and 
effects.

And I nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Ellen Kaye my whole and sole Executrix of all 
my money's Goods and Effects whatsoever.

Signed declared and published by the Testator William Kaye as his Last Will and Testament in our 
presence as witnesses the day month and year before written.

At a Chapter Court held at Peel on this 17th day of May 1878 – Diocese of Sodar and Mann. Henry 
Kaye and Thomas Kaye the subscribing Witnesses to the Execution of the foregoing paper writing 
purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of William Kaye late of the Cronkmoar in the Parish 
of Patrick deceased who died on or about the 14th day of May 1878 having made oath in the Holy 
Evangelist that the Testator William Kaye when of sound and disposing mind memory and 
understanding and after the same had been read over to the Testator duly executed and 
acknowledged the same was putting his cross mark  thereto in their presence and that they at the 
same time in the presence of the Testator at his request and in the presence of each other did then 
and there subscribe their names as attesting witnesses with Ellen Kaye the widow and relict of the 
Testator the Executrix in the said Will named is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute 
the said Will and to administer all and singular the personal Estate and Effects of the Testator 
according to law by paying his just debts funeral and Testamentary expenses of the deceased and 
the Legacy contained in the Last will so far forth as his Estate  and Effects will thereto extend and 
the Law bind her and return into the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese Sodar  and Mann a full true 
and perfect inventory of the said Estate and Effects with an accurate account of her administration 
thereof  when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends she hath given pledges namely Thomas 
Kaye of Ballalona in the Parish of Patrick and Henry Kaye of the Raggatt in the Parish of Patrick 
who have entered into and executed the usual Bond in the presence of this Court.
Probatum Est

Whereas, the Ecclesiastical Court of the Isle and Diocese of Sodar and Mann hath this day granted 
Probate of the Will of William Kaye late of Cronkmoar in the Parish of Patrick deceased, to Ellen 
Kaye, Widow the Executrix.

And Whereas, Thomas Kaye of Ballalona in the Parish of Patrick and Henry Kaye of Raggatt in the 
Parish of Patrick have agreed to become Pledges for the due and faithful Administration of the said 
Estate by the said Ellen Kaye according to Law.

Now, Know all Men by these presents, that we, the said Thomas Kaye and Henry Kaye hereby bind 
and oblige ourselves, jointly and severally, and our Heirs, Executors, Administrators, firmly by 
these presents, as Pledges for the said Ellen Kaye that she shall well and truly administer, all and 
singular, the Personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased, according to Law.  And in her default 
we bind ourselves, and each of us, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to be answerable and 
responsible for the whole to the said Court, and to all parties interested in the said Estate and Effects 
or the administration thereof, in the place and stead of the said Ellen Kaye.

Witness our subscriptions, this 17th day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight 
Hundred and Seventy Eight.

At a Chapter Court, held at Peel on the 17th day of May 1878 the foregoing bond and obligation was 
duly signed and delivered, and also acknowledged by the executing parties to be their proper Act 
and Deed.
