This is the last Will and Testament of me JOHN TAGGART of 
Castletown, Merchant, made and declared to be as follows: 
I leave and bequeath to my WIFE ISABELLA TAGGART all my 
property goods and effects real and personal of every 
kind and description whatsoever in the Isle of Man or 
elsewhere and I do hereby appoint her Executrix of this my 
last Will and Testament according to Law, And I do hereby 
revoke and render null and void all wills by me heretofore 
made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my 
name this twelfth day of November one thousand eight 
hundred and seventy eight.

Signed published and declared by the Testator as and 
for his last Will and Testament in our presence and 
in the presence of each othr on the above date.

THE HUMBLE PETITION OF ISABELLA TAGGART of Castletown, 
merchant, Sheweth, That JOHN TAGGART late of Castletown,
merchant, HUSBAND OF YOUR PETITIONER departed this life 
on or about the 8th day of November instant having first 
duly made and published his last Will and Testament in 
writing dated the 12 day of November 1878 whereof he 
appointed your Petitioner Executrix; That is it necessary 
that the said Will should be proved; That the declared 
JOHN TAGGART leaving no issue the only next of kin is 
HIS FATHER PAUL TAGGART; Therefore your Petitioner 
humbly prays a leaving hereof and that probate of the 
said Will may be granted to your Petitioner and that 
she may have such relief as is meet and she will pray.

DECLARED THAT THIS PETITION do come on to be heard at 
an Ecclesiastical Court to be held at Castletown on 
Friday the 28th day of Nov 1879, at 11 o'clock in the 
forenoon, whereof all proper parties and persons are 
to have due and lawful notice. Given at Castletown 
this 28th day of November 1879. N. Tibb.               

AT AN ECCLESIASTICAL COURT HELD at Castletown on the 
28th day of November 1879: 
George Edward Kewley and James Kewley the subscribing witnesses 
to the execution of the foregoing paper writing purporting to be
the last Will and Testament of JOHN TAGGART late of Castletown, 
merchant, deceased, who died on or about the 8th day of November 
1879, having made Oath on the Holy Evangelist that the said 
Testator JOHN TAGGART when of sound and disposing mind memory 
and understanding duly signed and acknowledged the same as and 
for his last Will and Testament in their presence and that they 
at the same time in the presence of the Testator and of each 
other subscribed the same in attestation thereof; 
ISABELLA TAGGART WIDOW, Relict of the said Deceased the executrix 
named in the said Will is therefore sworn well and truly to 
fulfil and execute said Will and to Administer all and 
singular the personal estate and effects of the said deceased 
according to Law by paying the just debts funeral and testamentary 
expenses of the said Deceased and the Legacies contained in 
his said Will so far forth as his Estate will thereto extend 
and the Law binds her - And to return to the Episcopal Registry 
of this Diocese of Sodor and Man a full true and perfect 
inventory of all and singular the said personal estate and 
effects with an accurate account of Her Administration thereof 
when thereunto lawfully required-And to these ends she hath 
given pledges namely JAMES KEWLEY of Castletown in the parish 
of Malew and GEORGE EDWARD KEWLEY of Castletown in the parish 
of Malew, who have entered into and executed the usual Bond 
in the presence of this Court.
