German 1880 20 The humble petition of John Thomas Halsall a minor by John Halsall his grandfather and next friend residing at the Moaney in the parish of German. Sheweth: That your petitioner's mother Esther Augusta Halsall wife of John Thomas Halsall late of the town of Peel deceased was in her lifetime entitle to a legacy of thirty pounds bequeathed to her by the will of her father John Cain deceased. That the said Esther Augusta Halsall died in the month of July 1878 intestate. And her husband the said John Thomas Halsall died in the month of January 1879 without having taken out administration of his said wife's estate. That petitioner is the only child of the said Esther Augusta Halsall or her said husband. That it is necessary in order to recover and receive the amount of the said legacy that administration of the estate of the said Esther Augusta Halsall should be granted to some fit and proper person. Wherefore petitioner prays a hearing hereof and that administration of the estate of the said Esther Augusta Halsall be granted by your Worship to the said John Halsall or some other fit and proper person. And petitioner will pray. Jno Hodgson Adv for petr Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at an Ecclesiastical Court to be held at Peel on Friday the 27th day of February 1880 at 10 o'clock in the forenoon. Whereof all proper parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice. Given at Peel this 27th day of February 1880. R. Jebb. At an Ecclesiastical Court held at Peel on the 27th day of February 1880. Upon hearing this petition in the presence of the parties, or their advocates, and it being proved that Esther Augusta Halsall, (wife of John Thomas Halsall) late of the town of Peel in the parish of German in or about the month day of July 1878 departed this life intestate. This court hath decreed John Halsall of the Moaney in the parish of German, administrator of all and singular the personal estate and effects of said deceased and accordingly he is sworn well and truly to administer the said estate and effects of the said deceased by paying her just debts and funeral expenses so far forth as the said estate and effects will extend and the law bind him and distributing the residue thereof according to law, and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full, true, and perfect inventory thereof, with an accurate account of his administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required; and to these ends he hath given pledges, namely, James Kissack of Corvalle in the parish of German and Frederick James Halsall of Moaney in the parish of German who have entered into and executed the usual bond in the presence of the court. Decretum Est R. Jebb. Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann hath this day granted Letters of Administration of the personal estate of Mrs Esther Augusta Halsall late of the town of Peel in the parish of German deceased, to John Halsall of the Moaney in the parish of German. And whereas, James Kissack of Corvalla in the parish of German and Frederick James Halsall of the Moaney in the parish of German have agreed to become Pledges for the due and faithful administration of the said estate by the said John Halsall according to law. Now, know all men by these present, that we the said James Kissack and Frederick James Halsall hereby bind and oblige ourselves, jointly and severally, and our heirs, executors, and administrators, firmly by these presents as pledges for the said John Halsall that he shall well and truly administer all and singular, the Personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased, according to Law. And in his default we bind ourselves, and each of us, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators, to be answerable and responsible for the whole to the said Court, and to all parties interested in the said Estate and Effects, or the administration thereof, in the place and stead of the said John Halsall. Witness our subscriptions this 27th day of February in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty.
