In the name of God Amen.
I John Kneale of Lough-dhoo in the Parish of Ballaugh do make the
following as and for my last will and testament hereby revoking all
other will or wills by me heretofore made.
First - I leave and bequeath to my beloved wife Ann Kneale the whole of
my real estate of houses and lands to me belonging situate in the parish
of Ballaugh by whatesoever name the same may be known and
wheresoever situated until my youngest daughter arrives at the age of twenty
one years. And afterwards, my wife Ann Kneale aforesaid is to have and
enjoy the whole of the dwelling house for her own use during
her lifetime without any molestation. She my said wife Ann Kneale also
is to have a widow right in the whole of my real estate of houses and
lands to me belonging as aforesaid and Turf for her own use during her
lifetime and a right to the barn and thrashing mill for the purpose of
thrashing corn and winnowing the same.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath to my heir at law after my youngest
daughter arrives at the age of twenty one years. One half of my real estate
of houses and lands, to me belonging situate in the parish of Ballaugh as
aforesaid the dwelling house excepted and the whole of my estate of houses
and lands as aforesaid after the decease of my wife Ann Kneale aforesaid.
He my said heir at law to pay for and in respect of the same, the sum of two
hundred and fifty pounds as soon as my said heir at law enters in possession
the first one half of my said real estate the aforesaid sum of two hundred
and fifty pounds to be a lien and charge on my real estate of houses and
lands aforesaid, and to be paid as follows "Namely" to my son Thomas Kneale
the sum of forty pounds. To my three sons Robert Kneale, John Ceasar Kneale
and David Kneale thirty pounds each. To my daughter Elizabeth Kneale the
sum of forty pounds
and to my two daughter Eliza Kneale and Louisa Kneale the sum of thirty
pounds each. To my daughter Ann Stephens otherwise Kneale the sum of twenty
pounds.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my wife Ann Kneale aforesaid
sole and whole executrix of this my last will and testament and
residuary legatee of all the rest of my property goods, chattels, and
effects of whatever kind, nature or description. In witness whereof I
hereunto subscribed my name this the 31st day of February in the year of our
Lord 1881.

John Kneale died on or about 29 April 1881 and probate was given 13
May 1881 with Ann Kneale sworn as administratrix of will.
Know all men by these presents that I David Kneale formerly of the
parish of Ballaugh on the Isle of man but now of Sidney New South Wales son
of John Kneale late of the Curragh in the said parish of Ballaugh deceased
reposing special trust and confidence in my mother Ann Kneale do make order
and appoint her my said mother my true and lawful
attorney for me and in my name or her own name to ask demand and receive
from all persons within that Isle all sums of money due to me or that may in
anywise arise due to me hereafter more especially to
receive from my brother William Kneale such or sums of money as is and
payable by him to me under my fathers will or settlement. And proper
receipts and discharges to sign and deliver of the same and generally to
do and trust all manner of business for me within the Isle of Man. And if
necessary one or more advocate or advocates to employ to conduct and
prosecute any suit or suits at law or inequity that she my said attorney may
think useful to institute with full powers of retractation or substitution
and I do hereby ratify and confirm all and every act that she my said
attorney may do or cause to be done in the premises in as full
and complete a manner as if I were personally present and transacted
the same. As witness my name hereto subscribed this Eleventh day of
September 1881

At Sydney in the Colony of New South Wales David Kneale this day personally
appeared before me Robert Butcher a Justice of the Peace the subscribing
witness to the foregoing Power of Attorney and made oath that David Kneale
the executing party thereto duly executed the same in presence of deponent.

Know all en by these present that David Kneale of Sydney in the Colony of
New South Wales by Ann Kneale was duly authorized and constituted attorney
under the foregoing Power of Attorney doth hereby own and acknowledge to
have received from William Kneale of Loughdhoo
Ballaugh Heir at Law of John Kneale late of Loughdhoo the full amount of
principal and interest due and owing in respect of a legacy of Thirty
Pounds bequeathed to the said David Kneale by the will of the said John
Kneale deceased which entered this date the 1st day of February 1881 and
was proved at Chapter Court holden at Ramsey the 13th day of May 1881 and
which each legacy was a declared by the said ---- and due and charge after
either Real Estate descended to the said William Kneale as such Heir at law
under the said will. And the said David Kneale by his
said attorney doth hereof release acquit and discharge the said William
Kneale and the laws and premises decreed when by the will of the said
John Kneale deceased from all matters ----or behalf and respect of the said
legacy and doth hereby direct that the said legacy be cancelled upon record.
In witness thereof the said Ann Kneale as attorney for the said David Kneale
hath hereunto entered her name this 28 day of January 1891.

deceased being about to emigrate to foreign parts made his mother his

cancelled upon records as witness his name hereto subscribed this the 23rd

Whereas Ann Stephen formerly Kneale wife of John Stephens of Dalton Street
in the town of Douglas, Mason, was entitled under the will of her father
John Kneale late of Lough-Dhoo in the parish of Ballaugh deceased dated 21st
day of February 1881 and duly proved on the 13th day of May 1881 to a sum of
twenty pounds the same being part of a sum of two hundred and fifty pounds
payable by his son William Kneale and
chargeable upon the lands and premises of Lough-Dhoo in the said parish
of Ballaugh. And whereas the said Ann Stephens sometime since
departed this life intestate without having received payment of the said sum
of twenty pounds leaving her husband the said John Stephens her surviving.
And whereas administration of the estate and effects of the said Ann
Stephens deceased was at a court holden in the said town of Douglas on the
19th day of November 1885 duly granted to John Stephen her said husband.
And whereas the said William Kneale having paid to
the said John Stephens administrator of the estate and effects of the
said Ann Stephen deceased the said sum of twenty pounds payable as aforesaid
to the said Ann Stephen deceased and chargeable as aforesaid hath requested
the said John Stephens administrator as aforesaid to execute the release
hereinafter mentioned which he has consented to do. Now know all Men by
these presents that the said John Stephens administrator of the estate and
effects of the said Ann Stephens decease for and in consideration of the
said sum of twenty pounds to him in hand paid by the said William Kneale the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged to hereby release acquit and forever
absolutely discharge the said William Kneale his heirs and assigns and the
said lands and premises of Lough-Dhoo in the said parish of Ballaugh from
all liability
to the payment of the said sum of twenty pounds and from all claims actions
and demands either now or hereafter for or in respect or on account of the
same to have and to hold the said lands and premises of Lough-Dhoo in the
said parish of Ballaugh unto the said William Kneale
his heirs and assigns absolutely free and discharged as aforesaid from
the said sum of twenty pounds and from all claims actions and demands either
now or hereafter for or in respect or on account of the same from the date
hereof forever. In witness whereof the said John Stephens administrator of
the estate and effects of the said Ann Stephens deceased hath hereunto
subscribed his name this the Twenty Third day of November 1885.
