This is the last will and testament of me John Craine of Balleigheragh in
Glen Auldyn in the parish of Lezayre farmer.
I revoke all my previous testamentary instruments.
I devise my estate of Balleigheragh and all to her lands and premises
belonging to me situated in the said parish of Lezayre unto my beloved
wife Judith for her life so long as she shall continue my widow and upon
her death or to her marriage I give and devise unto my daughter Mary Ann
Craine that dwelling house and premises (now tenanted by Mrs Watt
widow with the field adjoining and in the ---- thereof situate in the
said parish of Lezayre; also all and singular that and those parcels of
land called the Creenaugh King Thoar and Lagh Gill adjoining King Thoar
situated in the said parish of Lezayre to hold to her, her heirs, and
assigns for ever.
I give and devise the whole of my estates lands and premises (being part
of the quarterland of Balleigheragh in Lezayre aforesaid not hereby
otherwise disposed of unto my eldest daughter Isabella Jane Craine To hold
to her, her heirs, and assigns for ever.
I give and bequeath to my said wife the whole of my personal estate. And
I do hereby appoint my said wife executrix of this my will and guardian
of my said children.  In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name
this ninth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine.

Signed by the said John Craine as his last will in the presence of us
being present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the
presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses

At a Chapter Court held at Ramsey on the 12 day of May 1882
Robert James Kelly and Edward Creer the subscribing witnesses to the
execution of the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will
and testament of John Craine of Balleigheragh in the parish of Lezayre
deceased who died on or about the 28 day of February 1882 having made on the
Holy Evangelists this the testator John Craine when of sound and disposing
mind memory and understanding duly signed and acknowledged the same as and
for his last will and testament in the presence and that they at the same
time in the presence of the testator at his request and in the presence of
each other did then and there subscribed their names as attesting witnesses
unto Judith Craine the widow and relict of the testator the executrix named
in the said will is therefore sworn well
and truly to fulfil and execute the said will and to ---- all and singular
the personal estate and effects of the testator according to law by
paying the just debts funeral and testamentary expenses of the said will so
far forth as the said will estate and effects will thereto extend and
the law bind her and to return into the Diocesean Registry of this Isle
and Diocese of Sodor and Mann a full true and perfect inventory of the
said estate and effects with an accurate account of the administration
thereof when the unto lawfully required and to theses ends she hath
given pledges namely William Craine of Douglas in the parish of Braddan
and Thomas William Craine of Ballamanagh in the parish of Lezayre who have
entered unto and executed the usual bond  in the presence of this court.

Whereas the Eccl Court of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann hath this
day granted probate of the last will and testament of John Craine
late of Balleigheragh in the parish of Lezayre deceased, to Judith Craine
the widow of the said deceased the executrix in the said will named. And
whereas William Craine Douglas in the parish of Conchan and Thomas William
Craine of Ballmanagh in the parish of Lezayre have agreed to become pledges
for the due and faithful administration of the said
estate by the said Judith Craine according to Law.
Now , Know all men by these presents, that we the said William Craine
and Thomas William Craine hereby bond and oblige ourselves,  jointly
severally and our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, firmly by these
presents, as pledges for the said Judith Craine that she shall well and
truly administer, all and singular, the personal estate and effects of the
said decease, according to Law.  And in her default we bind ourselves and
each of us, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to be answerable
and responsible for the whole to the said Court, and to all parties
interest in the said Estate and effects or the administration thereof, in
the place and stead of the said Judith Craine.
Witness our Subscriptions, this 12th day of May in the Year of our Lord One
thousand eight Hundred and eighty two.

At a Chapter Court, held at Ramsey on the 12 day of May 1882.  The foregoing
Bond and Obligation was duly signed and delivered, and also acknowledged by
the executing parties to be their proper Act and Deed. 
Before me, R. Jebb
