This is the last will and testament of me Samuel Christian Nelson of Douglas
on the Isle of Man Doctor of the Medicine and Surgeons.
I direct my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid by
my executor hereinafter named.
I leave my gold watch and chains and the sums of twenty pounds and all
my Medical printed books to my son Stanley.
I leave all my other printed books and the sum of twenty pounds to my
son Herbert.
I give devise and bequeath unto such of my daughter as shall be living at my
death all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estates
whatsoever and wheresoever situated to hold to my said daughters their heirs
executors administrators and assigns share and share alike.
And I direct that my said executor shall have full power and absolute
authority to cause set at his discretion the whole in my part of my said
estate into money by sale of the same either by Public Auction or by private
contract a valuation by some competent juries being first had
and attained should the latter made of Sale be adopted.
I hereby appoint my friend Samuel William Adamson  of Whitly House in
the courts of Merth ________ whole and sole executor of this my will hereby
revoking all other wills by me heretofore made.
Witnesss my name this 13th day of January 1878.
Signed published and declared by testator as his will in our presence
when in his presence at his request and our presence of each other have
hereunto signed.

Probatum Est   R. Jebb.  The petition of Laurence William Adamson of Whitley
House in the county of Northumberland Esquire.
Sheweth
That Samuel Christian Nelson of Douglas Esquire doctor of Medicine died
on the fifteenth day of November instant having first made and published his
last will and testament bearing date the thirteenth day of January 1878.
Whereof he appointed petitioner whole and sole executor.  That it is
important owing to  petitioners residence in England that probate  should be
granted at as early a date as possible.  The deceased next of kin are
Horatio Stanley Nelson; Herbert Nelson; Emily Frances Nelson; Esther
Florence Nelson all of whom assent to the prayer of the petitioner and
are of age.
Wherefore the petitioner prays probate of the said will and for a special
court at which the same may be granted in due form of law and
petitioner will pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a Special
Ecclesiastical Court to be held at 12 O'clock on Saturday next the 24th
whereof all proper parties to have due notice.
