This is the last will and testament of me John Cormode of
Knockenean(Hill of the birds) in the parish of Andreas who being at the
making hereof of sound mind memory and understanding do make the
same in manner following:
First I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret wife of John
Crebbin ten pounds legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my son John Cormode the amount of his Promissory
Note which I hold for the sum of twenty pounds bearing date 24th May 1865.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Esther wife of Robert Killip the
amount of the said Robert Killip's Promissory Note which I hold for the
sum of forty pounds dated 24th February 1863.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine wife of John James
Sayle the amount of the said John James Sayles Promissory Note which I hold
for the sum of forty pounds bearing date 21st June 1865.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Thomas Cormode the sum of twenty pounds.
I leave unto my son James Cormode the sum of twenty pounds which I forwarded
to him to America some time ago.
I leave unto my son William Allen Cormode the sum of five pounds which
I forwarded to him to America some time ago.
I leave unto my son Robert Frederick Cormode the sum of five pounds.
I leave unto my granddaughter Ann Jane Killip my chest which in John James
Sayles house.
I leave unto my granddaughter Catherine Ann Sayle my clock.
I leave unto my granddaughter Ann Cormode a feather bed and bedding.
I leave unto my granddaughter Ann Jane Cormode daughter of Thos Cormode a
feather bed and bedding.
I leave unto my grandson William Allen Cormode my watch.
I leave unto the Rector and  Wardens  of Andreas the sum of three pounds to
be by them laid out as interest for the benefit of the poor of that parish.
I nominate constitute and appoint my sons John Cormode and Thomas Cormode
executors in trust of this my last will and testament to carry
out the object thereof and to divide the residue of my personal estate
equally between the whole of my children mentioned in this my will .
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 9th day of March

At a Chapter Court held at Ramsey on the 12 day of October 1883. Thomas
Martin and Edward Martin the subscribing witnesses to the execution of the
foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will
and testament of John Cormode late of Knickenean in the parish of Andreas
deceased who died on or about the 27th day of May 1883 having made oath unto
the Holy Evangelists that the testator John Cormode
when of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding duly signed and
acknowledge the same as and for his last will and testament in their
presence and that they at the same time in his presence at his request and
in the presence of each other did well and truly subscribe their
names as attesting witnesses which John Cormode and Thomas Cormode sons of
the testator the executors he the said will named are thereupon same well
and truly to fulfil and execute said will and to administer all
and singular the personal estate and effects of the intestate according
to law by paying his just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and
the legacies contained in said will so far forth as the estate and effects
will thereunto extend and the law bind them and to return unto the
Diocese Registry of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Man a full true and
perfect inventory of the said estate and effects with an accurate
account of the administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required and
to these ends and they have given pledges namely John James Sayle
of -------------- and John Corkill  and the town both in the parish of
Andreas who have entered into and executed the usual bond in the presence of
the court.

Know all men by these present that Ann Jane Killip of Lodge Lane Princes
Park in the city of Liverpool spinster, Robert Killip of Chatham in the
state of Ontario in the dominion of Canada and Richard Francis Killip of
Butte in the state of Montana in the United States of America the
children of Esther Killip otherwise Cormode wife of Robert Killip of
Rhenwee in the parish of Andreas do hereby own and acknowledge to have
received form John Cormode and Thomas Cormode both of Knock e Nean in the
said parish of Andreas the executors of the will of John Cormode
late of Knock e Nean aforesaid who died on  the 27th day of May 1883 the sum
of ten pounds nineteen shillings and nine pence being the share of
the residue of the estate of the said John Cormode deceased bequeathed by
him to the said Esther Killip in and by his said will probate whereof
was granted to the said John Cormode and Thomas Cormode at a Chapter Court
held at Ramsey on the 12th day of October 1883.  The said Esther Killip
having predeceased the said John Cormode deceased the said Ann Jane Killip,
Robert Killip and Richard Francis Killip do hereby release and discharge the
said John Cormode and Thomas Cormode executors as aforesaid of the estate of
the said John Cormode from all actions claims and demands in respect
thereof.  As witness their names the --- day of ---1897.

John James Sayle of Kieltushtag in the parish of Andreas farmer and his
wife Catherine receive eight pounds seven shilling and three pence on
the Twenty third day of May One thousand eight hundred and eighty five.

shillings and three pence  - 8 Jun 1885.

Robert Frederick Cormode rec'd his legacy 16 May 1885.

John Crebbin and Margaret Crebbin of Chatham Ontario Canada rec'd eight
pounds seven shillings and three pence  on 9 June 1885.

William Allen Cormode Bay City Michigan USA received eight pounds
seven shillings 3 pence 23 May 1885.
