The last will and testament of me John Killip of Close E Volley in the
parish of Lezayre who from due consideration of the uncertainty of this
transitory life do make this my last will and testament in manner
following.
First I commend my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial.
I leave and devise unto my daughter Elizabeth a certain house with
garden in front situate near the King Orrey Hotel Laxey in the parish of
Lonan. To hold the said house and garden to her and her heirs executors
administrators and assigns absolutely and forever.
I leave and devise unto my son John a certain house adjoining the above
house to the east with garden to the east now in the occupation of Mrs
Walter Kermode - To have and to hold the same to him and his heirs executors
administrators and assigns absolutely and forever.
Also a privy which is to be for the convenience of the both mentioned
houses.
I leave and bequeath to my sons William and Robert the sum of eight pounds
each as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my daughters Jane, Catherine, and Margaret, the sum
of eight pounds each as legacy.
I leave and bequeath to my son John and daughter Elizabeth the whole of my
household furniture share and share alike.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son John whole and sole executor
of this my will and revoke all previous wills by me at any time heretofore
made.
In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand this twenty second day of February
One thousand eight hundred and eighty three 1883.
