Ballaugh 1884 100 This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Keig of Ballamona in the parish of Ballaugh. I leave and bequeath to my wife Jane Keigg the whole of the rents issues and profits of all my real estate to be enjoyed by her so long as she remains my widow but to forefit all right to the same should she marry again and subject to the reservation hereinafter named. I leave and devise to my son John William Keig all the land and premisies devised to me by the wills of my deceased parents John and Mary Keig, also the dwelling house situate on Ballacorage called Thie un Dan to Have and to Hold the said lands and premisies and the said dwelling house unto him my said son John William his heirs and assigns absolutely subject nevertheless to his motheršs interest as hereinbefore devised and subject also to the right of any of my daughters who may be unmarried to reside in the said dwelling house called Thie un Dan while she remains unmarried. I leave and bequeath to my eldest son Thomas Stephen Keig all and singular that and those lands houses and premisies called and known by the name of Ballamona and all other lands to me belonging situate in the said parish of Ballaugh save and except as hereinbefore devised to have and to hold the said lands houses and premises with all rights and privileges thereto belonging unto him the said Thomas Stephen Keig his heirs and assigns absolutely to commence possession of the one moriety of said real estate when he attains the age of twenty seven years and the other moriety thereof on the marriage or decease of his mother but subject nevertheless to my widow having the power to select such half of the dwelling house and out office as she may think proper for her own use. I also devise to my said son Thomas Stephen Keig a pair of good horses, a cart, winnowing machine, a plough, a grubber, a set of harrows and a Beam and scales with the usual set of weights. I also authorize and empower my said son at any time after he attains the age of twenty one years to charge and encumber his share of the lands and premises devised to him with any sum of money not excluding one hundred pounds the interest of such sum to be paid by my widow until he my said son shall be twenty seven years of age aforesaid and thence forward the said interest to be paid by himself. I also direct and request my executrix to hand over and transfer to my eldest son aforesaid at any time that he should desire it after he is twenty one years my right and interest in the lease of the estate and lands of Ballakeig and also to my son John William subject to the same terms and at the same time my right and interest in the lease of the Rectorial Glebe lands and premises. I leave and bequeath to my three daughters the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds each to be paid to them on the intermarriage or decease of my wife which ever event may first take place. I also direct that the whole of the mortgages affecting my lands at the time of my decease shall be and remain chargeable upon my said lands devised to my sons as aforesaid in proportion to the acreage transferred to each the full amount of the principal of such mortgage and the whole acreage of said lands being and forming the measure and basis of value and calculation. I leave devise and bequeath to my said wife the whole of the rest residue and remainder of all my personal estate of whatever the same my consist and wheresoever discovered. And I nominate constitute and appoint her my said wife to be executrix of this my will hereby revoking and utterly setting aside any and all former will or wills by me heretofore made declaring this to be my last will and testament.
