I Edward Costain of Colby, Joiner, do make my last will and testament in
manner following, namely:
I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Jane Cannell, wife of William
Bridson, the whole of my real and personal estates of goods monies and
effects of every kind and description and wheresoever the same may be at the
time of my decease, including the sum of twenty pounds which has to be paid
by my son John Costain in terms of a certain Deed of Settlement granted to
him by me a short time ago. - And I do hereby nominate constitute and
appoint her my said grand daughter Jane Bridson sole executrix of this my
will - as witness my name hereto this twenty fifth day of September 1883.

Signed published and declared by the said Edward Costain as and for his last
will and testament in the presence of Ed Martin and Edward Leece.


In Her Majestyıs High Court of Justice of the Isle of Man, Common Law
Division, Testamentary Jurisdiction
At a District Probate Session held at Castletown on the 10th day of November
1884.
The annexed paper writing dated 5th day of September 1883 having been proved
the last will and testament of Edward Costain late of Colby in the parish of
Arbory Joiner deceased, who died on the 24th day of June 1884.  William
Bridson husband of Jane Bridson a granddaughter of the testator the
executrix named in the said will and in right of his said wife is sworn well
and truly to fulfil and execute the same and to administer the personal
estate of the said deceased according to law.    W. L. Drinkwater,

Will of Edward Costain, late of Colby in the parish of Arbory.
Know all men by these presents that we William Bridson ( in right of his
wife Jane Bridson) William Costain of Colby in the parish of Arbory and
Edward Leece of Colby in the parish of Arbory are jointly and severally and
any two of us jointly bound unto our Sovereign Lady the Queen in the sum of
Thirty Pounds to the payment whereof, well and truly to be made to our said
Lady the Queen, her heirs, and successors, we bind and oblige ourselves
jointly and severally, and any two of us jointly, our Executors and
Administrators, firmly by these presents.  As witness our subscription the
10th day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty four.


The condition of our obligation is such, that if the above named William
Bridson who seeks to obtain a grant of Probate of the last Will and
Testament of Edward Costain late of Colby in the parish of Arbory (joiner)
but now deceased, who died on or about the 24th day of June 1884, do, when
lawfully called on in that behalf, make or cause to be made a true and
perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and effects of the
said deceased which have or shall come to his hands, possession, or
knowledge or into the hands of any other person for him and the same so made
do exhibit, or cause it be exhibited, into the proper Registry in that
behalf whenever required by law so to do:  And the same personal Estate, and
effects of the said deceased, which shall at any time come into the hands or
possession of the said William Bridson or into the hands or possession of
any other person or persons for him or which without default might have come
into the hands or possession of the said William Bridson do well and truly
administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts and
liabilities of the said deceased so far as the said personal estate will
extend and the law bind the said William Bridson then this obligation to be
void and of no effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.
