I Catherine Cowley of Peel being of sound mind memory and understanding do
make this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
I leave and bequeath to my nephew William Cowley the sum of twenty four
pounds to be paid by my executrix hereinafter mentioned in six annual
installments of four pounds each and be it understood that in the event of
the demise of the aforesaid William Cowley at anytime before the sixth
annual payment the twenty four pounds or any portion thereof still remaining
unpaid is to become the property of my executrix.
I nominate constitute and appoint my sister Jane Cubbon widow of Edward
Cubbon whole and sole executrix and residuary legatee of this my last will
barring all other claimants therein with one shilling as a legacy.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 23rd day of March one
thousand eight hundred and eighty eight (1888)

At a District Probate Session holden at Peel on the 13th May 1889.
The annexed paper writing dated the 23rd day of March 1888 having been
proved to be the last will and testament of Catherine Cowley late of the
town of Peel spinster deceased who died on the 24 day of December 1888.
William Corris of the town of Peel Farmer in right of his wife Jane Corris
formerly Cubbon a sister of the testatrix the executrix therein named is
sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the same and to administer the
personal estate of the said deceased according to law. W. Gill  a Judge of
the said Court.
Know all men by these presents that William Cowley doth hereby own and
acknowledge to have received from Jane Corris executrix of the will of the
late Catherine Cowley aunt of the said William Cowley the sum of twenty four
pounds being the amount of six years legacy bequeathed to him by her last
will dated the twenty third day of March one thousand eight hundred and
eighty eight.
Probate whereby was at an Ecclesiastical Court held at Peel on the
thirteenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine granted to
the latr William Corris and the said William Cowley doth direct that the
said legacy be crossed and cancelled on record.
Witnesses his name this the twentieth day of March one thousand eight
hundred and ninety three (1893).
