Marown 1889 62 The humble petition of John Corlett of the Rock in the parish of Marown farmer and Margaret Ann his wife and of Robert Hugh Gelling of Ballavitchell in the said parish farmer and Susanna Jane his wife. Sheweth as follows: 1. Ann Kelly of Ballavitchell aforesaid widow died on or about the 19th day of December 1888 having first made her last will and testament bearing date the 11th day of June 1885 whereof she appointed the said Margaret Ann Corlett and Susanna Jane Gelling executrixes. Your petitioners are desirous that probate of the said will may be granted. Wherefore petitioners humbly pray a hearing hereof and that your Honor may be pleased to grant probate of the said will to the said John Corlett and Robert Hugh Gelling in right of their said wives and petitioners will pray. J. Kneale Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a Court to be held at Douglas on Monday the 21st day of January 1889 at 11 o'clock in the forenoon. Whereof all proper parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice. Given at Douglas this 18th day of January 1889. W.Drinkwater. This is the last will and testament of me Ann Kelly of Ballavitchell in the Parish of Marown widow, being of sound mind, memory, and understanding, at the making hereof. I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas the sum of five shillings as legacy. I leave and bequeath to my daughter Susannah Jane, all my household furniture, the corn, and all the sheep which I may have at the time of my decease. I leave and bequeath to my two daughters Margaret Ann and Susannah Jane all and singular that parcel of land situate in the parish of Marown called and know by the name of Loudies Croft or some such name including both Quarterland and Intack. To have and to Hold the said Parcel of Land with all rights members and privileges to the same severally belonging or in anywise appertaining unto them my said two daughters their and each of their heirs and assigns as tenants in common commencing possess on and from the day of my decease. I leave and bequeath to my said two daughters the whole of the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate of whatever the same may consist and wheresoever situate, share and share alike absolutely, and I nominate and appoint them my said two daughters joint executrices of this my will hereby revoking and setting aside any and all former will or wills by me heretofore made declaring this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this the eleventh day of June 1885 (One thousand eight hundred and eighty five) Ann Kelly Signed published and declared by the testatrix as and for her last will and testament in presence of us who in her presence and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Robert Cowley Senior Robert Cowley Junior. At a Court holden at Douglas on the 21st day of January 1889 The annexed paper writing dated the 11th day of June 1885 having been proved to be the last will and testament of Ann Kelly late of Ballavitchell in the parish of Marown widow deceased who died on the 19th day of December 1888. John Corlett of the Rock in the said parish Farmer husband of Margaret Corlett a daughter of the testatrix one of the executrices therein named and Robert Hugh Gelling of Ballavitchall aforesaid farmer husband of Susanna Jane Gelling also a daughter of the testatrix the other executrix in the said will named in right of their said wives are sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute this same and to administer the personal estate of the said deceased according to law.
