	In the Name of God Amen.   I James Cowell in the 
Parish of Lonan do make this my last Will and Testament 
I direct that all my just debts funeral 
and testamentary expenses be paid and 
satisfied by my Executor hereinafter 
named as soon as conveniently may be 
after my decease.
 	I leave and bequeath to my sister 
Anne Lawson of Old Laxey the sum of 
five pounds.  I leave and bequeath 
to my sister Jane Fothergill of Manchester 
the sum of three pounds.   I leave and 
bequeath to my sister Catherine Killip 
the sum of one pound. I leave and 
bequeath to my sister Margaret Cowley 
of Sulby Lezayre the sum of one pound 
I leave and bequeath to my niece Mary, 
wife of William Cowley my watch and 
chain and I desire that the said watch 
and chain be given to her Son Matthias 
as soon as he comes to the age of twenty one years  
I leave and bequeath to my William Cowley 
(tailor) of Grawe in the Parish of Lonan the 
House Gardens and Premises that he now 
lives in situated on the Estate of Grawe 
in the Parish of Lonan also the House 
Gardens and Premises situated in Rencell 
Laxey and tenanted by William Killip 
Also all my weaving apparel and all 
and every sum and sums of money which 
may be found in my House or about 
my person or due to me at the time of 
my decease and all and every other 
item of my Estate and effects whatso- 
ever and Wheresoever both real and 
personal wheather in possession or 
reversion remainder or expectancy to 
and for his own use and benefit 
absolutely 
I nominate constitute and appoint 
the said William Cowley to be Executor 
of this my last Will and hereby revoking 
all other Wills and Testaments by me at 
any time heretofore made  I declare 
this to be my last Will and Testament 
in witness hereof I the said James 
Cowell have to this my last Will and 
Testament set my hand this the twenty 
fourth day of December in the year of 
our Lord one thousand eight hundred 
and eighty seven.
