This is the last will and testament of me Ann Cowley of Athol Street in
the Town of Peel (widow) made and executed this 1st day of December
One thousand eight hundred and ninety.
I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Cowley my gold watch as legacy.
I give and devise to my daughter Christiana wife of John Caine of
Liverpool the sum of fifty pounds sterling as legacy and which said sum
is not to be paid to her unto twelve months after my decease and no interest
to paid thereon.
I leave and bequeath the legacy left to me in the will of my late uncle
Thomas Caine, Tanner, Finch Road, Douglas as follows:
One seventh part to my daughter Annie widow of the late Charles Dodd United
States of America, one seventh part to my son John Cowley one seventh part
to my daughter Christiana wife of John Caine of Liverpool
and the remaining portion in equal parts to my daughters Jane and Maria
Cowley.
I leave to Robert Dodd and his present wife for and during their natural
life that certain dwelling house premises Ayd Glen now occupied by them
being part of Ballabooie situate in the parish of German for their right,
use and privilege free of any charge whatever.  And upon their death to
revert and come to my heir at law whoever he may be.
I nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Jane and Maria Cowley
aforesaid or the survivor of them joint executrixes and residuary
legatees of my personal estate and effects.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name the day month and
year before written.

Signed declared and published by the said Ann Cowley the testatrix as and
for her last will and testament in our presence who and at her request in
her presence and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our
names as witnesses thereto.

29 January 1894 Jane Cowley and Maria Cowley sworn as executrixes.
John Caine and Christiana Cain his wife received from Jane Cowley and Maria
Cowley the sum of fifty pounds sterling.
Bond in the amount of 12 hundred pounds taken with Jane Cowley and
Maria Cowley with John Cowley Mona Street, Peel,  joiner, and William
Cowley, Cowley Terrace, Peel, joiner.
