I Isabella Lace widow of Thomas Lace late of the parish of Lezayre deceased
calling to mind the uncertainty of human life do make declare
and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form as
following:
First I commend my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
I give leave and bequeath to my son John Christian Lace the sum of five
shillings as legacy.
I give leave and bequeath to my daughter Ann Lace the wife of Robert
Keig five shillings as legacy.
I give leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Amelia Lace wife of James
Kneale (now abroad) five shillings as legacy.
I give leave and bequeath to my grand daughter Matilda Christian Keig
daughter of my daughter Ann wife of Robert Keig ten pounds British as
legacy.
I give leave and bequeath to the aforesaid Matilda Christian Keig one of
the best feather beds sheet bolster two pillows blanket and counterpane as
legacy.
I give leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Isabella Jane Teare daughter
of my daughter Jane wife of William Teare ten pounds British
as legacy and likewise the yellow chester drawers as legacy.
I give and leave to my son in law Robert Keig five pounds sterling and
order the same to be expended in the erection of a headstone over my grave
after my demise.
I give leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane Lace wife of William Teare
all the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels and effects of what
kind or nature soever and nominate constitute and appoint the said Jane Lace
wife of William Teare whole and sole executrix of this my last
will and testament in witness whereof I subscribe my name this the fifteenth
of May one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine 1889.
