The humble petition of Christopher Gick of the Strang in the parish of
Braddan - grocer.
Sheweth as follow:
1.  You petitioner's mother Elizabeth Gick late of the Strang in the parish
of Braddan widow died on or about the 8th day of April 1891.
2.  On the 17th day of June 1848 the said Elizabeth Gick made a will
jointly with her late husband Robert Gick and on the 28th day of February
1888 the said Elizabeth Gick made a last will and testament whereof she
appointed your petitioner executor.
3.  You petitioner is desirous of obtaining a grant of probate of the said
will of the said deceased.
Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays a hearing hereof and that your Honor
may be pleased to grant to petitioner probate of the said will of
the said deceased and petitioner will pray.

Know all men by these presents that Thomas Gick of Park View
Castletown Road in the parish of Braddan retired grocer (a son of Robert
Gick and Elizabeth his wife late of the Strang in the parish of Braddan in
the Isle of Man but now deceased) doth hereby own and acknowledge to have
received from Christopher Gick executor of the will of the said Elizabeth
Gick decease (which will is contained in two paper writings
dated respectively the seventeenth day of June 1848 and the twenty eighth
day of February 1888 and of which probate was on the fifteenth day of June
1891 granted to the said Christopher Gick) the sum of
twenty pounds such sum being the amount of a legacy bequeathed by the said
Elizabeth Gick by the said paper writing of the twenty eighth day of
February 1888 to each of her children living at the time of her death. And
in consideration thereof the said Thomas Gick doth hereby release and
discharge the said Executor and the estate of the said Elizabeth Gick
deceased from all further liability claim and demand in respect of the
said legacy.

20 lbs 19 April 1892.
Alexander Craig and wife Emma Craig otherwise Gick received £20 17 March
1892.
Martin Thompson No. 56 Bank Buildings Hawks Clough Hebden Bride Yorkshire
and wife Alice Thompson als Gick received £20 18 Mar 1892. Lewis Gick of
Woodbury Canterbury New Zealand received £20 ls 19 May 1892.
Thomas Cain of 14 Suton Grove Walton Road Liverpool and Margaret Ann Cain of
19 Hanover Street Douglas otherwise Gick his wife received from Christopher
Gick executor the will of Elizabeth Gick the sum of twenty pounds 22 July
1892.

Usual bond taken out by Christopher Gick of the Strang and John Daniel
Kellett of Victoria Street in the town of Douglas grocer and Thomas Gick of
Park View Castletown Road in the said town of Douglas retired grocer
in the amount of £300 o our Sovereign Lady the Queen 1 Jun 1891.
