This is the last will and testament of Richard Quirk of Raby in the parish
of Patrick Esquire Justice of the Peace and Captain of the said parish.
I devise all my real estate lands and tenements to my friend Messrs Thomas
Corlett of Ballagarraghan in the parish of German and Peter Cadman of
BallaHutchin in the parish of Marown and to their heirs and assigns in trust
to suffer and permit my wife to possess the Mansion House of Raby in which
we now live, and the coach-house and loft above
the cow house, stables and lot and other houses the grounds gardens and
fields being the whole of the lands and houses in my own occupation and
containing about twelve acres to Hold to her during widowhood.
And in further trust to pay over to my said wife one half of the rents,
issues, and profits arising from the remainder of my real estate lands
and tenements where ever the same may be situate as the said rents accrue
during widowhood including one half of the rents of Wigan in
Malew.
And as to the other half of the said rents In trust out of the portion
thereof arising from my estate of Raby (which consists of part of the
quarterlands of Raby Moar and Raby Beg) to pay an annuity of forty pounds a
year to my granddaughter Isabella Huston Quirk until my
grandson Richard Barton Quirk attains the age of twenty one years.
And as to the balance of the rents of the said real estate not including
the Mansion House and other premises left for the use of my wife and
hereintofore mentioned, after my said wife's half thereof and the
annuities aforesaid shall be paid thereout and all necessary annual expenses
and out goings connected with the property shall be discharged
In trust to pay the same to my grandson and heir apparent Richard Barton
Quirk aforesaid until he attains the age of twenty one years.
And subject to the said several payment and annuities and subject to and
after the several estates and interest hereby created in my said real estate
and premises  In trust by a good and sufficient deed in writing convey and
confirm the said real estate lands and tenements and the rents issues and
profits arising there from to and upon the said Richard Barton Quirk his
heirs and assigns after the execution of which deed I further devise that my
said wife is to possess one half of the said property during her widowhood.
And I empower my trustees for the time being with the consent in
writing of my said wife to grant leases of my said real estates or any
part thereof for a term not exceeding ten years from the executing such
lease or leases or from the twelfth of November next after such
execution at reasonable rents and on such terms as may seem reasonable to my
said trustees who are to act jointly in the said trusts.
In case the said trustees depart this life or either of them during the
continuance of the said trust or refuse or become unable to act in the same
trusts it shall be lawful for my said wife during her lifetime and
after decease for the said Richard Barton Quirk to nominate and appoint
a trustee or trustees in the place of the said Thomas Corlett and Peter
Cadman or either of them.  I hereby declare that the said trustees shall
only be liable for their own acts and receipts.
I dispose of my personal estate as follows namely I leave to my
grandchildren James Ambrose Quirk Collard, Alfred Stephen Collard and Isable
Houston Quirk the sum of four hundred pounds each such sums to
be payable to them as they respectively attain the age of twenty three years
and until so payable the interest of each legacy from my decease too be
applied for the benefit of each legatee as my executrix may consider best,
provided that if any one or more of my said three last named legatees shall
die under the age of twenty three years unmarried his her or their legacies
shall survive to and be paid to the others or
other of them and this to apply to accruing shares of legacies. In the
event of the decease of all the pecuniary legatees aforesaid without
lawful issue before receiving their respective legacies, I direct the said
legacies to be paid to my grandson Richard Barton Quirk.  The legacy of
he said Isabella Houston Quirk to be paid into her own hands and for her own
sole and separate use free from marital control.
I leave all the rest and residue of my personal estate to my wife
Margaret Quirk and I hereby declare that the moiety of the rents
hereinbefore bequeathed to her is in full of her widow right in my lands
during the said Richard Barton Quirk's minority.
I appoint my said wife executrix hereof.
In witness where I have hereunto subscribed my name this the tenth day

At a court holden at Ramsey on the 6th July 1892.  Margaret Quirk sworn
executrix with pledges being Thomas Corlett of Ballagarraghan Gewrman and
John Stephen of Ballaugh who jointly took out a bond in amount of ten
thousand pounds on 6th day of July 1892.
7 Aug 1893 Isabella Huston Quirk rec'd four hundred pounds.
J. A.  Collard received 400 pounds 29th day of August 1892.
