73 In the Name of God, Amen. I Anne
Hoskins of Orry’s Mount Laxey in the
Parish of Lonan, widow, being of sound
disposing mind memory and understanding
do make this my last Will and Testament
in manner following hereby revoking
and cancelling all Wills heretofore made by me
First I leave devise and bequeath
to my daughter Anne Selina, wife of
John Williams that portion of my house
situate at Orry’s Mount Laxey in the
said Parish of Lonan, used as a parlour
together with the room immediately above it
as her own absolutely and also with the free
use of and the right of way to the water
closet situate in the garden attached to
the said house. I leave devise and
bequeath to my said daughter Anne Selina
the chairs and tables in the parlour. Next
I leave devise and bequeath to my two sons
Thomas Charles Hoskins and Frederick
Andrew Hoskins the sum of three pounds
each. To my son John Hoskins I
leave devise and bequeath the whole
of the remainder of my real and
personal Estate of whatsoever nature
and description or wheresoever situate
as his own absolutely provided he pays
the aforesaid legacies to his two brothers
and takes the entire burden and encumbrance
upon his portion of the house and garden
of the whole of the mortgage now upon the
whole of the premises owned by me, that
is to say the two aforesaid rooms bequested
to my said daughter are to be free from
any liability of the present mortgage thereon
I also nominate constitute
and appoint my son John James Hoskins
sole Executor of this my last Will and
Testament and have hereunto subscribed
my name this the twenty sixth day of September
in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine
(1889)
