Will of Ann Cowley late of the parish of Lezayre widow.
Know all men by these presents that we Margaret Kinrade, widow,
Edward James Curphey Retired Miller both of Sulby in the parish of
Lezayre and John Preston Fargher High Road inspector of Ramsey are jointly
and severally and any two of us jointly bound unto our Sovereign Lady the
Queen  in the sum of one hundred pounds to the payment whereof, well and
truly to be made to our said Lady the Queen, her heirs, and successors, we
bind oblige ourselves jointly and severally and any
two of us jointly our Executors and Administrators, firmly by these
presents.  As witness our subscriptions the 13th day of November in the year
of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety three.
The condition of our obligation is such, that if the above named Margaret
Kinrade who seeks to obtain a grant of Probate of the last will and
testament of Ann Cowley late of Sulby in the parish of Lezayre widow
but now deceased, who died on or about the 25th day of September 1893, do,
when lawfully called on in that behalf, make or cause to be made a
true and perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and
effects of the said deceased which have or shall come to her hands,
possession, or knowledge, or into the hands of any other person for her and
the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the
proper Registry in that behalf whenever required by law so to do:  And
the same personal Estate, and effects of the said deceased, which shall
at any time come into the hands or possession of the said Margaret Kinrade
or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons
for her or which without default might have come into the hands or
possession of the said Margaret Kinrade do well and truly administer
according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts and liabilities of the
said decease so far as the said personal estate will extend and the law
bind the said Margaret Kinrade then this obligation to be void and of no
effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

The executing parties to the foregoing Bond acknowledged the same to be
their Act and Deed.

I Ann Cowley widow of John Cowley late of the parish of Lezayre calling
to mind the uncertainty of human life do make declare and publish this
my last will and testament in manner following:
I commit my soul to God and my body to a decent Christian burial.
Whereas by the last will and testament of my late husband John Cowley
certain parts and parcels of his lands were devised to his daughter Anne
Eliza Cowley and also certain houses and premises were to his son John Henry
Cowley and also certain lands and premises were devised to his
son Robert Edward Cowley with a clause in the since will that in the
event of his said children dying before coming into possession of the
several propertys left or devised to them (that is to say after their
mothers death) that Ann his wife should have the power to leave the
share or shares of the child or children so dying to the surviving children
as she might think proper.
And whereas Ann Eliza Cowley has lately departed this life leaving no
issue and also John Henry has lately departed this life leaving no issue
and Robert Edward has also departed this life leaving no issue the said
Ann Cowley in exercise of the power given to her doth leave and devise
the since parcels of land and houses in manner following:
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Margaret wife of late John Kinrade these
lands and premises called "Close Cranstyl" Curragh Ne Mona, Croit Frank also
the whole of the lands and premises and houses situated on
the South side of the River near Sulby Bridge being intack land formerly
belonging to the Kella estate bounded by the River on the North, part of the
Abse Mour on the West, part of the property called Hall on the South, and
the High Road on the East, also the whole of that property consisting of
lands and houses and premises situated near the Kella Mills as  lies on the
North side of the High Road formerly part of the Kella, also that part of
William Cowley by John Cowley and Edward Cowley trustees by Deed dated the
7th day of August 1885 together with all the household furniture and effects
of what ever description and to be at her own disposal and that the same is
not be in use the control of any husband
she may marry nor liable to be sold for any debt which such husband may
contract.
I nominate constitute and appoint Margaret Kinrade whole and sole executrix
and residuary legatee of all my goods, chattels and effects of whatever kind
or nature soever.
In virtue whereof I hereby subscribe my name hereto as and for my last will
and testament this 21st day of December 1887.     Ann Cowley

The foregoing document purporting to be the will of Ann Cowley is the
document produced to George Maddrell and approved to in the affidavit made
by him before me this second day of Nov 1893
Magistrate of Glasgow.
13 Nov 1893 Ramsey the daughter of Ann Cowley Margaret Kinrade of Sulby
sworn as executrix .
In the matter of the application of Margaret Kinrade of Sulby widow for
probate of the will of Anne Cowley widow of John Cowley late of the
parish of Lezayre Farmer.
I George Waddell formerly residing at Sulby in the parish of Lezayre in
the Isle of Man but now at Eighteen Pollack Street in the city of Glasgow
in Scotland, Builder make oath and say
1.  I was well acquainted with the testatrix Anne Cowley.
2.  The said testatrix signed the will now  produced to me and marked "A"
after the same had been read over to her in my presence and in the presence
of John James Killey the other subscribing witness thereto and
I and the said John James Killey signed the said will as witness at the
request of the said testatrix and in her presence and in the presence of
each other all three being present at the same time.
The said testatrix was when she so signed the said will of sound mind memory
and understanding.
As witness my name this second day of November 1893.
