I Thomas Boyce of South Cape Laxey in the parish of Lonan, Miner, being of
sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament
in manner following hereby revoking and canceling all wills heretofore made
by me.
First I leave devise and bequeath to my wife Margaret Boyce during her
natural lifetime all rents issues and profits arising out of my real
estate of whatsoever nature or description together with all interest
dividends and profits arising or payable out of the whole of my personal
estate and should this at any time be insufficient to maintain her she
shall be at liberty to mortgage and encumber my real estate to make up any
insufficiency for said purpose.
Upon the decease of my said wife Margaret Boyce, I leave devise and bequeath
my real and personal estates as follows:
I leave devise and bequeath to my son Thomas Boyce during his natural
life time the dwelling house in which I now reside together with the
garden attached thereto as now used by me situate at the South Cape Laxey in
the said parish of Lonan but should my said son Thomas Boyce
die without leaving any issue then the said dwelling house and garden
shall become the absolute property of my grandson William James Radcliffe
his heirs and assigns.
Next I leave devise and bequeath to my two grandchildren Margaret Susan
Abbott and Mary Elizabeth Abbott the two dwelling houses with the
gardens attached thereto situate at the South Cape Laxey in the said parish
of Lonan each to share alike the said two houses are now occupied by Thomas
Beckerleg and E. Irvine respectively but in the event of either or both of
my said grandhchildren dying intestate or without issue then
the property of grandchild dying intestate or without issue shall become the
property of my heir at law.
Moreover I give to the occupiers of the aforesaid three houses respectively
equal rights and equal privileges to the water on the
premises for domestic purposes
Next I leave devise and bequeath to my son in law John Radcliffe an his
wife Mary Ann Radcliffe during their natural lifetime and the lifetime of
the survivor the dwelling houses garden and premises now occupied by them
situate at the South Cape Laxey and bought by me from Henry Bateman. And
upon the decease of the survivor the said house garden and premises shall
become the absolute property of my grandson William James Radcliffe.
I also leave devise and bequeath the following legacies payable at the
decease of my said wife Margaret Boyce namely to each of my grandchildren
Margaret Radcliffe, Lilian Radcliffe, Catherine Isabella Radcliffe the sum
of Five Pounds and to my granddaughter Annie wife of Robert Kinrade the sum
of twenty pounds sterling.
Next I leave devise and bequeath to my three great grand children Lilian
Kinrade, Emily Jane Kinrade and Annie Gertrude Kinrade the sum of ten pounds
each.
The whole of the remainder of my personal estate at the decease of my said
wife. I leave devise and bequeath as follows:
Namely to my son Thomas Boyce one third to my daughter Mary Anne Wife of
John Radcliffe one third and the remaining one third to my two grandchildren
Margaret Susan Abbott and Mary Elizabeth Abbott equally between them, their
father Thomas Abbott in no wise to have any control over it, neither as
guardian or trustee.
I also hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Margaret
Boyce sole executrix of this my last will and testament and have
hereunto subscribed my name this the twentieth day of August in the
year One thousand eight hundred and ninety four(1894).

Whereas Thomas Boyce of South Cape, Laxey, in the parish of Lonan, now
deceased did by this last will and testament dated 20th day of August 1894
probate whereof was granted to his wife Margaret Boyce at a court holden at
Douglas on 13th day of Novmeber 1894 devise and bequeath to his three grand
daughters namely Lilian Kinrade, Emily Jane Kinrade, and Annie Gertrude
Kinrade of Laxey the sum of ten pounds each payable at the decease of the
said Margaret Boyce.
And whereas the said Margaret Boyce of South Cape Laxey now deceased did by
last will and testament dated 11th day of March 1897 probate whereof was
granted to John Thomas Cowin of the Glen Laxey in said parish of Lonan Agent
at a court holden at Douglas on he 4th day of October 1897 confirm the
aforementioned legacies.
Now these presents witness that Robert Kinrade of Oakfield House
Laxey(father of the said three children ) and John Kinrade of Sunncroft
Laxey (uncle of the said children) who were appointed guardians of the
said Lilian Kinrade, Emily Jane Kinrade and Annie Gertrude Kinrade at a
court holden at Douglas on the 25th day of October 1899 do hereby own and
acknowledge to have received from the said John Thomas Cowin executor as
aforesaid the said legacies of ten pounds each bequeathed the said children
by their said grandfather, Thomas Boyce together with two years interest
thereon at three per cent per annum amounting to one pound sixteen shillings
and in consideration thereof the said Robert
Kinrade and John Kinrade guardians as aforesaid, do hereby release
acquit and discharge the said John Thomas Cowin executor as aforesaid and
the estate of the said Thomas Boyce from any further liability in respect of
the said legacies.
In witness whereof they have hereunto subscribed their names this the first
day of Nov 1899.

1901, at 2 15 o'clock afternoon No. 1894/232 Frank I. Johnson
Annie Kinrade wife of Robert Kinrade of South Cape Laxey received 20
lbs sterling from John Thomas Cowin 10 March 1898.
Whereas Thomas Boyce of South Cape, Laxey in the parish of Lonan now
deceased did by his last will and testament dated 20th day of August
1894 probate whereof was granted to his wife Margaret Boyce at a court
holden at Douglas on 13th day of November 1894 devise and bequeath to his
three granddaughters namely Margaret Radcliffe, Lilian Radcliffe and
Catherine Isabella Radcliffe (minors) of South Cape, Laxey in the parish
of Lonan the sum of twenty pounds each payable at the decease of the said
Margaret Boyce.
And whereas the said Margaret Boyce of South Cape Laxey in the said parish
of Lonan now deceased did by her last will and testament dated 11th day of
March 1897 probate whereof was granted to John Thomas Cowin of the The Glen,
Laxey in the said parish of Lonan, agents, at a
court holden at Douglas on the 4th day of October 1897 devise and bequeath
to her granddaughter Margaret Radcliffe the sum of ten pounds. Now these
presents Witness that John Radcliffe and Thomas Boyce both
of the South Cape, Laxey in the parish of Lonan, miners, who were duly
appointed guardians of the said minors, namely, Margaret Radclliffe,
Lilian Radcliffe and Catherine Isabella Radcliffe at a court holden at
Douglas on 2nd day of March 1898 do hereby own and acknowledge to
have received from the said John Thomas Cowin, executor as aforesaid the
whole of the aforesaid four legacies, amounting in the aggregate to Seventy
pounds, and in consideration thereof the said John Radcliffe and the said
Thomas Boyce guardians as aforesaid, do hereby release acquit and discharge
the said John Thomas Cowin, executor as aforesaid and the estate of the said
Thomas Boyce and also the estate of the said Margaret Boyce from any further
liability whatever in respect of the said
legacies. In witness whereof they have hereunto subscribed their names this
the 7th day of March 1898.

Mary Ann Radcliffe and John Radcliffe received three hundred and sixty seven
pounds sterling being one third of the residue of the said Thomas Boyce¹s
personal estate and one third of the residue of the said Margaret Boyce's
personal estate 28th day of February 1898.
Granddaughters Margaret Susan Abbott and Mary Elizabeth Abbott of Peveril
Street in Douglas received three hundred and eighty seven pounds per their
guardians Robert Kewley and Edward James Cowley
28th day of February 1898.
Thomas Boyce Jr received one third of the residue of Margaret Boyce and one
third of Thomas Boyce personal estate 28 Feb 1898.
