Rushen 1895 15 In the name of God Amen. I John Turnbull of Cross e Caley parish of Rushen, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. I give devise and dispose of the real and personal estate of which I am possessed in the following manner. First I give and bequeath to my son William my clock, the kitchen dresser, a book (The Life of Christ) my own chest and large table. Secondly I give to my son John all clothes my wearing apparel and large chest and to John's wife all the things in the kitchen chimney piece. Thirdly I give to my daughter Margaret Crellin twenty pounds, two decanters, and large picture. Fourthly I give and bequeath to my son Thomas one half of my houses also half of the garden to be his for the term of his natural life and to be the property of his present wife after her husband's death (should she survive her husband) for the term of her natural life or so long as she remains in his name the property then to belong to their heir at law. I also leave my son Thos the sum of fifteen pounds sterling. And to my daughter in law Thomas's wife I bequeath my bedstead, feather bed, bolster, pillows with all my bed clothes and also my small chest. I likewise appoint my son Thomas executor of this my last will. I also enjoin that after my executor have paid my just debts legacies and funeral expenses that the remainder of my personal estate be equally divided amongst my four children named above. I ratify and confirm this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I subscribed my name this 29th of April 1890. John Turnbull.
