This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Cannell of Rhencullin
in the parish of Michael Blacksmith. I bequeath to my wife Margaret Cannell
a legacy of fifty pounds also the whole of the rents issues and profits of
all my real estate and the residue of my personal estate and
the use of my household furniture and effects during her natural life
subject thereto I give and bequeath the following legacies namely to my
son James and my daughter Jane Sophia all my household furniture and effects
share and share alike to my daughter Elizabeth Skillicorn the
sum of fifty pounds her receipt alone to be a sufficient discharge to my
executors notwithstanding coverture; to my son William the sum of Two
hundred pounds; to my son Thomas the sum of One hundred and fifty pounds; to
my son James the sum of two hundred pounds; to my daughter Jane Sophia the
sum of four hundred pounds; to my son John Thomas the sum of fifty pounds;
to my natural grandson Lewis Cannell Kneen the sum of ten pounds.
I devise to my son James his heirs and assigns my lands in the parish of
Michael called The White Stone Field part of the estate of Rhencullen
containing about three acres of land.
I devise to my son James and my daughter Jane Sophia absolutely as tenants
in common all and singular that and those lands dwelling house
and out offices and premises situate in the said parish of Michael being
part of Rhencullen aforesaid and containing about two acres of land lying to
the North of the High Road leading from Bishop's Court to Kirk Michael
Village and South of the said Railway Line bounded by my lands and
house Mrs Thomson's on the South East by Ballafageen on the South West by my
lands on the North East.
The said Railway on the North West.
I devise the whole of the rest residue and remainder of my real estate
wheresoever situate to my said son John Thomas for the term of his natural
life without impeachment of waste and after his death I devise
the same to the person who shall at his death be his heir at law. I leave
and bequeath the whole of the rest residue and remainder of my personal
estate to my said son James and my said daughter Jane Sophia in equal
proportions share and share alike.
I declare that the pecuniary legacies bequeathed by this my will are all
to be payable without interest at the expiration of a year and a day from
the death of my said wife.
I nominate and appoint my said son James and my said daughter Jane Sophia
executors of this my will. Hereby revoking all former wills and
testamentary writings by me heretofore executed and declaring this only to
be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto
subscribed my name this 4th October day of October One thousand eight
hundred and ninety two. Thomas Cannell

will and testament in our presence who in his presence at this request
and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as
witnesses

At a District Probate Session held at Peel on this 21st May 1895.
The annexed paper writing dated this 4th day of October 1892 having be
proved to be the last will and testament of Thomas Cannell late of
Rhencullen in the parish of Michael Blacksmith deceased who died on the 20th
day of November 1894 James Cannell of Rhencullen aforesaid a son of the
testator and Jane Sophia Cannell his daughter of the testator the executors
therein named are sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute
the same and to administer his personal estates of the said deceased
according to Law.

It appearing that the annexed paper writing dated the 4th day of October
1892 was proved on the 21st day of May 1895 as the last will and testament
of Thomas Cannell late of Rhencullen in the parish of Michael Blacksmith,
deceased who died there on the 20th day of November 1894 and that probate of
the said will was granted to James Cannell and Jane Sophia Cannel the
executors therein named and it further
appearing that the said James Cannell died on the 24th day of September 1911
and that the said Jane Sophia Cannell died on the 28th day of October 1924
without having fully administered the personal estate and effects of the
said Thomas Cannell deceased.
This court hath decreed John Cannell Cowley of Sea View Cottage Governors
Road in the parish of Onchan joiner and builder administrator
de bonis non (with the said will annexed) of the personal estate and
effects of the said deceased and accordingly he is sworn well
and truly to administer the personal estate and effects of the said deceased
so left unadministered in terms of his said will and according
to law.
