1897 Lonan 101
I, William McClain of Laxey Glen
in the Parish of Lonan, being of sound
mind memory and understanding do
make this my last Will and Testament
in manner following hearby revoking
and cancelling all wills heretofore
made by me.
First I leave devise and
bequeath to my sister Sarah Dorman
the sum of five pounds. Next I leave devise
and bequeath to my grand daughter
Annie McClain the sum of five pounds.
I also leave devise and bequeath to my
daughter Sarah wife of Wm Samuels
the sum of five pounds. Next I leave
devise and bequeath to Ellen wife of
my son Edward McClain the sum
of five pounds. To Ruth Ellison
wife of Thomas Ellison I leave devise
and bequeath the whole of the insurance
money due at my decease upon two
insurance policies on my life as compensation
for her care and attention to me.
To my son James McClain I leave devise and
bequeath the whole of the club money
due at my decease, and also the household
furniture to dispose of as he thinks
best . Lastly I nominate constitute
and appoint my son James
McClain sole executor and
residuary legatee of this my last
Will and Testament and have hereunto
subscribed my name this the fourth
day of December in the year
one thousand, eight hundred and ninety six (1896)
