This is the last will and testament of me John Radcliffe of Ballasloe in
the parish of Maughold.   I being of sound disposing mind memory and
understanding at the making hereof.
I leave and bequeath to my beloved wife Ann Radcliffe the whole of the
houses, lands, and premises with all ways, watercourses, easements,
liberties, rights, members, and appurtenances to the same belonging
being part of the quarterland of Ballasloe and situated in the parish of
Maughold for and during the term of her natural lifetime and on and after
her decease I leave and bequeath the said houses, lands, and  premises of
Ballasloe aforesaid to my son  Harold Arthur Radcliffe and I hereby
provide and say that if my son Harold Arthur dies without lawful issue
then the before mentioned property of Ballasloe shall fall to and be
vested in my son Ruben Roland Radcliffe.
I leave and bequeath to my sons John Thomas, Allen, Horatio Albert,
Ralph Reginald, Oscar Horace and Charles Daniel, the sum of one pound each.
To my son Ambrose Lawrence six pounds to my sons Zebith William and Ruben
Roland the sum of five pounds each as legacy and I hereby say that if any
one of my sons shall depart this life before his legacy becomes
due that the amount of such legacy shall not be payable and I hereby say
that the foregoing legacies shall be a lien and charge on the houses,
lands, and premises of Ballasloe aforesaid until paid and that the
legacies bequeathed in this will shall not be payable until the decease of
my said wife Anne Radcliffe and on and after her decease those children
under age if any their legacie shall not be paid until they arrive at the
age of twenty one years.
I nominate, constitute, and appoint my wife Ann Radcliffe and my son Harold
Arthur Radcliffe whole and sole executors and residuary legatees
of this my will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto  subscribed my name this the first
day of November one thousand eight hundred and ninety seven (1897). John

Signed by the said testator John Radcliffe as and for his last will and
testament in our presence and in presence of each other who at his request
have subscribed our names as witness hereto.
