This is the last will and testament of me Robert Cretney formerly of
Ballaoats in the parish of Braddan but now of Ballagarey in the parish of
Marown farmer.
I hereby revoke all wills and testmentary writings by me at any time
heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last will and
testament.
I appoint my son William Oates Cretney (hereinafter called My trustee)
to be the executor and trustee of this my will.
I give and devise unto my son Robert Quayle Cretney all and singular the
estate and those lands and premises both Quarterland and intack situate
in the said parish of Braddan and called and known as Ballaoats together
with the buildings thereon and the appurtenances thereunto belonging,
subject however to the mortgages chargeable thereon at my death. To Hold
(subject as aforesaid) to him his heirs and assigns absolutely.
I give devise and bequeath unto my trustee all and singular my dwelling
house and premises situate in St Georges Street in the town of Douglas and
all my shares in The Manx Bank Limited To Hold to him his heirs executors
administrators and assigns upon Trust to pay and apply at his absolute
discretion and in such manner as he shall think fit the net
income thereof in and towards the maintenance clothing and support of
my daughter Christian Cretney during her life; and from and after her
decease as to the said dwelling house and premises and the said shares and
the unapplied income thereof (if any) upon trust for himself my trustee his
heirs executors and administrators and assigns absolutely.
I give and bequeath unto my trustee six shares on The Isle of Man Steam
Packet Company Limited Upon trust to pay and apply the income thereof at his
absolute discretion and in such manner as he shall think fit, in and towards
the maintenance clothing support and education of such one or more of the
children of my son John James Cretney, namely Margaret Cretney, Elizabeth
Cretney and John James Cretney who shall for the
time being be under the age of twenty one years; and upon the youngest
living child attaining the said age, then upon trust to make over and
transfer the said shares and the unapplied income thereof (if any) unto such
one or more of the said children then living and who shall have attained the
age of twenty one years and if more than one equally
between them.
I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Kelly wife of John Kelly of Trollaby in
the parish of Marown two shares in The Isle of Man Steam Packet
Company Limited.
I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Ann Jane Kelly daughter of the
said John Kelly two shares in the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Limited.
I give and bequeath the following pecuniary legacies, namely To the said
Elizabeth Kelly the sum of two hundred pounds and to Sarah Christian a
domestic servant now in my service the sum of twenty pounds.
I give devise and bequeath unto my said son William Oates Cretney also
the real estate whatsoever and wheresoever, of or to which I shall at my
death be in any wise seised or entitled, not herein otherwise disposed of
and also all the personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever belonging
to me at my death not herein otherwise disposed of To Hold to him his heirs
executors administrators and assigns absolutely and forever.
In witness where I the said Robert Cretney have hereunto subscribed my name
this the twenty first day of March one thousand eight hundred and ninety

At a court holden at Douglas on the 22nd day of October 1900. William Oates
Cretney renounced executorship with John William Craine of
Douglas as executor with pledges being Robert Craine and Thos Craine.
