I Daniel Mylroi of Laxey Glen in
the Parish of Lonan, being of sound
mind memory and understanding do
make this my last Will and Testament
In manner following hereby revoking and
cancelling all wills heretofor made by me
First I leave devise and bequeath
to my daughter Catherine wife of Joseph
Cannell during her natural lifetime the
dwelling house garden and premises now
occupied by me and the said Joseph Cannell
situate in Laxey Glen in the said Parish of
Lonan, and at the decease of my said daughter
Catherine Cannell I leave devise and
bequeath the said dwelling house gardens
and premises between my three grand-
daughters, namely Fanny Cannell, Norah
Cannell and Harriet Cannell or those of
them living at the decease of my said daughter
Catherine Cannell
Next I leave devise and bequeath to
my grand-daughter Emily Jane Cannell
the house adjoining the one I occupy and
now tenanted by George Garrett also the
garden belonging thereto. To my two
grand-children namely Fanny Lawson and
Percy Lawson I leave devise and bequeath
the sum of five pounds each. Next
I leave devise and bequeath to my grand-daughter
Edith Cannell the two dwelling houses
gardens and premises as now occupied by
Nellie Moughton, Thomas Gelling and John
James Kelly, subject however to my said
daughter ? Catherine Cannell receiving the yearly rents of the
same for five years after my decease.
I also hereby grant permission to the
owners and occupiers of the aforesaid houses
to use and enjoy the closets in the same manner
as they have hitherto done.
Next I leave devise and bequeath
to my daughter Annie wife of Robert Corlett
the dwelling house and premises adjoining at
the Beach Laxey and now occupied by
Joseph Hogg and also the whole of the
mortgage (principle and arrears of interest
included) secured in and upon the said
Robert Corlett's house and garden, situate
at King Orry Laxey in the said Parish of
Lonan, as her own absolutely and free from
her husband's control. To my son John
Mylroi I leave devise and bequeath the
sum of one pound. Next I leave devise
and bequeath to my grandson Frederick
Cannell the whole of my lands and
premises called Ardehollaghyn situate
near Foxdale with the buildings thereon
subject however to my said daughter Catherine
Cannell receiving and enjoying the rents
thereof for five years after my decease

[JM&JC] I leave devise and bequeath the dwelling
house and garden adjoining the smithy and
now occupied by Robert Sayle, situate in Laxey
Glen in the said Parish of Lonan, and also the
two fields situate near Old Laxey (bought by me
from the late Richard Rowe).
To my three grand-daughters namely Fanny
Cannell, Harriet Cannell and Norah Cannell
I leave devise and bequeath equally between
them the whole of the mortgages held by
me upon that portion of Ballacoeney owned
by Thomas Joseph Mylroi, subject to my
said daughter Catherine Cannell having and
enjoying the interest on the said mortgages
for five years from the date of my decease
After payment of my just debts
testamentary and other expenses and also
of the legacies contained in this will
I leave devise and bequeath the residue
of my real and personal estate of
whatsoever nature or description in Trust
to James Robert Moore of King Orry
Laxey in the said Parish of Lonan, weaver
to hold to him and his executors, administrators
and assigns in Trust to suffer and
permit my daughter Catherine Cannell
to have use and enjoy the rents interest
and profits arising yearly out of the same
during her natural lifetime, In Trust
to make over and dispose of the said
residue of my real and personal estate
in manner following that is to say upon
the decease of my said daughter Catherine
Cannell he the said James Robert Moore
his executor, administrator or assign shall
realise and divide the said real and personal
estate equally and proportionately between
the children of my daughter ? Catherine Cannell then living
Lastly I nominate constitute and
appoint my daughter Catherine Cannell
sole executrix of this my last Will and
Testament and have hereunto subscribed my
name this the seventh day of June in
the year one thousand, eight hundred and
ninety seven. In the second page the word "said"
was crossed off and the name Alfred entered
before signing in place of Frederick. On third page
Catherine Cannell was also [entered] before
signing
