Patrick 1902 No 137 The humble petition of Alfred Stephen Collard of No 10 Dale Street in the City of Liverpool. Sheweth as follows: 1. Margaret Quirk late of Raby House in the parish of Patrick widow died on or about the 4th day of February 1902 leaving her last will and testament in writing bearing date the 11th day of August 1901 whereof she appointed her grandsons Richard Barton Quirk and your petitioner executors. 2. The said Richard Barton Quirk has renounced the executorship of the said will. Wherefore petitioners humbly pray a hearing hereof and that your Honor may be pleased to grant to petitioner probate of the said will and petitioner will pray. This is the last will and testament of me Margaret Quirk of Raby in the parish of Patrick "widow of the late Richard Quirk of Raby aforesaid and I hereby revoke all wills codicils and testamentary dispositions heretofore at any time made or executed by me. I hereby declare that the following goods and chattels were formerly in the possess of and were the property of my late daughter Eliza Collard wife of the late James Ambrose Collard, that is to say, one chiffonier, one timepiece, two pianos, three fancy chairs, now in my drawing room, three salvers of silver or silver-plate, one tea service which was a wedding present, one dozen silver teaspoons and two dozen knives and forks, two portraits in oil one being of my said daughter the other of the said husband all the foregoing goods and chattels being at present in Raby House occupied by me and so far as I can legally do so I leave and bequeath the whole of the above mentioned articles to James Ambrose Collard and Alfred Stephen Collard sons of my said daughter To have and to Hold the same equally share and share alike. I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Isabella Houston Corlett the sum of one thousand pounds To Have and To Hold to her the said legacies and bequests for her sole and separate use free from the debts, liabilities and control of her present or any husband I hereby declare that her receipt therefore notwithstanding coverture shall be a good and valid discharge to the executors hereof. I leave and bequeath my best china, dessert service the same being of Crown Derby pattern and certain pieces of which now hang in my drawing room at Raby house aforesaid unto my grandson Alfred Stephen Collard I leave and bequeath to my grandson Richard Barton Quirk the sum of two hundred pounds and the whole of the furniture, books, pictures, china and all other household goods and effects of every kind and description belonging to me which shall be in and about my dwelling house Raby House aforesaid at the time of my death and not specifically bequeathed or disposed of by this my will and also my brougham and carriage harness and all to the articles in and about the stable to my said house and all poultry, dogs, and live stock belonging to me at the time of my death. I leave and bequeath to my grandson James Ambrose Collard the sum of one thousand pounds To Have and To Hold the same to him for his own use absolutely. I leave and bequeath to my grandson Alfred Stephen Collard the sum of one thousand pounds To have and To Hold the same to him for his own use absolutely. I leave and bequeath to my faithful servant Dinah Moore the sum of twenty pounds To have and to Hold the same to her for her own use absolutely. I leave and bequeath to the said Dinah Moore also the sum of one pound and ten shillings and to each of my servants actually in my service at the time of my death a sum of one pound and ten shillings to purchase mourning clothes. I hereby direct my executors to place in the parish church of Kirk Patrick, if permission be granted, a stained glass window in memory of me to be as far as possible similar to that placed in the said church in memory of my late husband not to exceed the sum of thirty pounds in cost and I hereby also direct that my body should be buried in the same grave as my late husband that a suitable inscription as a memorial of me should be cut in the headstone of the said grave. I leave devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my property of every kind and description and where so ever situate after payment there-out in the first instance of my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses unto my said grandchildren Isabella Houston Corlett, James Ambrose Collard and Alfred Stephen Collard To Have and to Hold the same equally between them share and share alike. The share of the said Isabella Houston Corlett to be for her own sole and separate use free from the debts liability and control of her present or any husband and I desire that my funeral expenses should not exceed the sum of one hundred pounds. I hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Alfred Stephen Collard and Richard Barton Quirk executors of this my will. At a court holden at Peel on the 7th day of April 1902 by adjournment from the 15th day of March 1902.
