     In the Goods of John Cretney deceased.
     To his Honor Deemster T T Stevenson
     Moore His Majesty's First Deemster of
     this Isle and a Judge of the said Division.

     The humble petition of Robert
     Radcliffe Cretney of 66 Murrays
     Road in the Borough of Douglas
     Blacksmith (herein after referred
     To as "Your Petitioner")
Sheweth:-
            Your Petitioner,s father late of Number
Sixty-six (66) Murray's Road aforesaid
(formally known as Number forty- six (46) Murray's
Road). Retired Coachman died at the above address
On or about the 30th day of December One thousand
Nine hundred and eight (1908) having first
Made and published his last Will and Testament
Dated the 7th day of May One thousand nine
Hundred and eight (1908) whereon he
Appointed your Petitioner sole Executor.
Your Petitioner is devious of obtaining
Probate of the said Will of the said decedent.

Wherefore your Petitioner humbly
Prays a hearing hereof and that
this Court may be pleased to grant
probate of the said Will of the 
said John Cretney to your Petotioner
or such other and further relief as
is meet and your Petitioner will
ever pray etc.

ORDERED THAT THIS PETITION DO COME ON TO BE HEARD AT A COURT TO BE
HOLDEN AT DOUGLAS ON MONDAY THE 1 ST DAY
FEBRUARY 1909 AT 10:30 O'CLOCK IN THE FORENOON WHEREOF
ALL PROPER PARTIES AND PERSONS TO HAVE DUE NOTICE
        GIVEN THIS 23RD DAY OF JANUARY 1909

This is the last Will and Testament of me 
John Cretney of 46 Murray's Road in the 
town of Douglas. Retired Coachman.
After my decease and reasonable expenses of 
interment, and Testamentary Charges – 
I leave and bequeath all my personal Estate 
in manner following: 
To my 2 daughters Margaret Jane Cretney Eliza Ann 
wife of Robert Bawden Moore one third part 
each of the money, also my household effects 
equally between them both.
To my son Robert Radcliffe Cretney one 
third part of the money, my watch and chain 
and sundry Tools; I leave in Trust only 
(my said son to act as trustee) for the 
benefit of my grand daughter Doris Moore a 
minor the six shares I hold in the Co-operative 
Society of Laxey Known as the Industrial 
Co-op Society together with any profits arising 
there from, such to be lodged in a Savings Bank 
till she attains the age of 21 years then 
the said Shares with the profits accrued thereon 
to lie by the Trustee, his Executor or 
Administrator transferred to the aforesaid 
Doris Moore.
I hereby nominate and appoint my son Robert 
Radcliffe Cretney Sole executor of this my last Will.
As witness my name this Twenty Seventh day of may 1908.
Signed by the testator John Cretney as and 
for his Will in presence of William Crellin, 
William Cowin.

At a Court holden at Douglas on the 1st day of February 1909
The annexed paper writing dated 27th day of May 1908 
having been proved to be the last Will and Testament 
of John Cretney late of 46 Murray's Road in the Town 
of Douglas retired Coachman deceased who died on 
30th day of December 1908 Robert Radcliffe Cretney 
of nr 66 Murray's Road aforesaid Blacksmith a son 
of Testator the executor therein named is Sworn well 
and truly to fulfil and executes the same and to 
administer the ???? Estate of the Deceased according to the Law.
