This is the last will and testament of me Catherine Hannah Wade of
Ballamenagh in the parish of Lezayre widow.
I leave and bequeath to my youngest son Philip Herbert Wade the sum of
twenty pounds sterling.
I leave and devise all the rest residue and remainder of my property real
and personal whatsoever and wheresoever situated to my daughter Catherine
Hannah Wade whom I appoint my residuary legatee and
executrix of this my last will and testament. I direct her to pay all my
just debts funeral and testamentary expenses.
I hereby revoke any or all wills theretofore made or executed by me.
As witness my name this twenty second day of May one thousand eight hundred
and ninety three.

testament in our presence and who at her request in her presence and in
presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses

The humble petition of Catherine Hannah Wade of Hillside Sulby in the parish
of Lezayre spinster.
Sheweth That your petitioner's mother Catherine Hannah Wade late of Hillside
Sulby aforesaid widow died on the 29th day of January 1911
having first duly made and executed her last will and testament bearing date
the 22nd day of May 1893 whereof she appointed your petitioner
sole executrix.
That your petitioner is desirous that probate of the said will should be
granted to her.
Wherefore your petitioner humbly prays a hearing hereof and that your honor
may be pleased to grant probate of the said will of the said Catherine
Hannah Wade to her and she will ever pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be held at
Ramsey on Monday the 13 day of Feb 1911 at 11:20 O'clock forenoon. Whereof
all proper parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice. Given at

Will of Catherine Hannah Wade late of Hillside Sulby in the parish of
Lezayre widow.
Know all men by these present that we Catherine Hannah Wade of
Hillside aforesaid spinster.
Edward James Curphey of Sulby Bridge in the said parish of Lezayre and John
Robert Corlett of Clover Cottage Sulby Bridge aforesaid are jointly and
severally and any two of us jointly bound unto or Sovereign Lord the King in
the sum of Four Hundred Pounds to the payment whereof well and truly to be
made to our said Lord the King, his heirs and successors, we bind and oblige
ourselves jointly and severally and any two of us jointly,
our Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents.
As witness our subscription the thirteenth day of Feb 1911.
The condition of our obligation is such, that if, the above named
Catherine Hannah Wade (hereinafter called the executrix) who seek to obtain
a grant of Probate of the last will and testament of Catherine Hannah Wade
Hillside Sulby aforesaid but now decease, who died at Sulby aforesaid on or
about the 29th day of January 1911, do when lawfully called on in that
behalf, make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and
singular the personal estate and effects of the said deceased which have or
shall come into her hands, possession, or knowledge, or into the hands of
any other person for her and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be
exhibited, into the proper Registry in
that behalf whenever required by law so to do: And at the same personal
estate and effects of the said decease which shall at any time come into the
hands or possess of the Executor, or into the hands of any other person or
persons for her or which without default might have become
into the hands or possession of the Executrix do well and truly
administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts an
liabilities of the said decease so far as the said personal estate will
extend and the law bind the executrix then this obligation to be void of
no effect or to remain in full force and virtue.

Catherine Hannah Wade sworn as executrix.
Know all men by these presents that Philip Herbert Wade of Johannesburg
South Africa doth hereby own and acknowledge to have received form Catherine
Hannah Wade of Sulby in the parish of Lezayre Executrix of the will of
Catherine Hannah Wade of Ballamanagh in Lezayre aforesaid
bearing date the 22nd day of May 1893 probate whereof was obtained at
a court held at Ramsey on the 13th day of Feb 1911 the sum of twenty pounds
being the amount of a certain legacy bequeathed by the said will
to the said Philip Herbert Wade and in consideration thereof be the said
Philip Herbert Wade doth hereby release acquit and discharge the said
Catherine Hannah Wade executrix as aforesaid and her executors and
administrators and the estate of the said Catherine Hannah Wade decease of
and from all further claim and demand in the matter whatsoever and the said
Philip Herbert Wade doth hereby order and direct that the said legacy be and
stand cancelled upon record.
In witness hereof be the said Philip Herbert Wade hath hereunto
subscribed his name this eighteenth day of July one thousand nine
hundred and eleven 1911.

Walter Cartlidge Clerk of P.O. Box 1587 Johannesburg one of the subscribing
witnesses to the execution of the foregoing instrument and
of whose identity I have satisfied myself personally appeared before me
William Shirley Notary Republic of Johannesburg and made oath on the
Holy Evangelists that Philip Herbert Wade the executing party thereof
duly executed the same in presence of deponent and of Walter Cartlidge and
Frederick Oscar Werth who signed as W. Cartridge and Fred Werth the other
subscribing witnesses thereof.
In testimony whereof I the said Notary Public have hereto subscribe my name
and affixed my official seal on the above date.
