I William Bateman of Minorca Laxey in the parish of Lonan being of sound mind memory and 
understanding do make this my last will and testament
in manner following, hereby revoking and cancelling all wills heretofore made by me.
First I leave devise and bequeath to my wife Margaret Bateman during
her natural lifetime all rents interest dividends issues and profits
arising annually out of the whole of my real and personal estate.
Moreover upon the decease of my said wife Margaret Bateman, I leave devise and bequeath my dwelling 
house garden and premises situate at Minorca Laxey in the said parish of Lonan (as now occupied by me) to 
my son John Henry Bateman his heirs and assigns, subject however to my unmarried daughters, namely Ann 
Jane and Robena, having the free use and enjoyment of the said house and premises while they remain 
unmarried. This privilege shall extend fully to the last one remaining unmarried of my said two daughters, 
but no longer.
Next I leave devise and bequeath upon the decease of my said wife the whole of my household furniture 
(excepting my late daughter Eliza's) equally and proportionately between my two daughters namely Ann 
Jane and Robena each to share alike.  I bequeath my late daughters Eliza's furniture at present in the house 
to my daughter Robena.
Next I leave devise and bequeath the whole of my personal estate remaining at the decease of my said wife 
Margaret Bateman (excepting
the furniture) in the following manner between my six children namely:
 To my son John Henry, I bequeath three hundred pounds (300)
To my daughter Ann Jane I bequeath two hundred and fifty pounds (250). To my daughter Robena I 
bequeath three hundred and fifty pounds (350).
 To my daughter Isabella I bequeath two hundred pounds (200)
To my daughter Margaret Emily I bequeath two hundred pounds (200).
 To my daughter Jemima I bequeath two hundred pounds (200) but should any of my said children 
predecease me leaving issue then such issue
shall be entitled to their parent's share.  After payment of my just
debts, testamentary and funeral expenses and foregoing legacies, I
direct that the residue of my estate shall be equally and proportionately divided between my above named 
six children.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said son John Henry Bateman executor of this my last will and 
testament and have hereunto
subscribed my name this twentieth day of February in the year of our
Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.
