The humble petition of John Thomas Kaighin of Ballagarrett in the parish
of Bride Farmer.
Sheweth;
That your petitioner's father John Thomas Kaighin of Ballagarrett aforesaid
departed this life on or about the 24th day of September 1914 having first
duly made and published his last will and testament in
writing bearing date the 14th day of July 1913 whereof he appoint his
wife Jane Kaighin and your petitioner executrix and executor.
The said Jane Kaighin survived her said husband but has since departed this
life intestate.
Your petitioner is desirous of obtaining probate of the said will.
wherefore your petitioner prays a hearing hereof and that your Honor
may be pleased to grant probate of the will of the said John Thomas Kaighin
deceased to your petitioner and your petitioner will every pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a Court to be held at
Ramsey on Monday the 17th day of May 1915 at 11:15 o'clock forenoon. Whereof
all proper parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice. Given at
Ramsey this 12th day of May 1915.
This is the last will and testament of me John Thomas Kaighin of
Ballagarrett in the parish of Bride Farmer which I make publish and
declare in form and manner following that is to say:- I give devise and
bequeath the whole of my real and personal estates to my wife Jane Kaighin
to hold to her for the natural term of her life only and so long as she
remains my widow and upon her decease or second marriage which ever event
should first happen then I give and bequeath to my three daughters Esther
Mary Kaighin Eleanor Kaighin Isabella Kaighin and my
son William Kaighin the sum of twenty five pounds each and as to the residue
of my personal estate after payment of the above named legacies amounting in
the aggregate to the sum of one hundred pounds and the whole of my real
estate I give devise and bequeath the same to my son John Thomas Kaighin to
hold to him and his heirs executors
administrators and assigns absolutely. I nominate constitute and
appoint my said wife and my said son John Thomas Kaighin executrix and
executor of this my will hereby revoking all former wills made by me
and declaring this only to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 14th day of July
One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirteen (1913).

Signed published and declared by the testator as and for his last will and
testament in our presence who at his request in his presence and in presence
of each other heave hereunto subscribed our names the date aforesaid as
witnesses.

This Grant is made upon the condition that no portion of the assets shall be
distributed or paid during the War to any beneficiary or creditor who
is a German, Austro-Hungarian, or Ottoman subject wherever resident, or to
anyone on his behalf, or to or on behalf of any person resident in Germany
Austro-Hungary or the Ottoman Empire, of whatever nationality without the
express sanction of the Lieut-Governor acting through the Treasurer of this
Island; and if any distribution or payment is made contrary to this
condition the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration will be
forthwith revoked.
Upon an application to the treasurer of this Island there will be no
difficulty in proper cases in obtaining sanction to the payment of a
moderate sum out of assets to beneficiaries or creditors who are
German, Austro-Hungarian, or Ottoman subjects resident in this country
at the commencement of the War and during the War.

Jane Kaighin died without taking probate of said will. John Thomas
Kaighin also of Ballagarrett and farmer
was made executor of will and sworn
in 17 May 1915.
