This is the last will and testament of me William Creer
formerly of Ballachurry and now of Kerrowglass in the parish
of German retired farmer I hereby revoke all former wills and
testamentary writings at any time heretofore made by me and do
declare this only to be my will ……..
I devise all my real estate of every kind and description 
wheresoever situate over which I have power of disposition to
my wife Margaret Ann creer for her life without impeachment of
waste and on her decease I devise the dwelling house known as
“Cornelly House” to my niece Katie Creer daughter of my brother
John Creer to hold to her heirs and assigns – I devise the
residue of my real estate to my sister Emily Creer if living
at the death of the survivor of me and my said wife to hold
to her heirs and assigns If the said Emily Creer die in
my lifetime or in the lifetime of my said wife I devise the 
residue of my real estate to such one of the issue of the said
Emily Creer as shall be her heir-at-law at the death of the
survivor of me and my said wife but in case there be no issue
of the said Emily Creer then living – I devise the said residue
of my real estate to my brother John Creer to hold to him his
heirs and assigns but if the said John Creer  die in my lifetime
then such residue shall go to such one of his issue as shall at
my death be his heir-at-law to hold to him his heir and assign
I declare that the person for the time being entitled to the
rents and profits of my real estate may let the same in such lot
or lots for such term of years of from year to year as he or she
may think fit.
AS TO MY PERSONAL ESTATE
I appoint my wife and my brother John Creer Executors hereof
I give and bequeath to my said executors all my personal estate
in trust ………..
As to the furniture and household goods to permit my wife to have
the use and enjoyment thereof during her life and on her decease
to permit my sister Emily Creer to have the use and enjoyment
during her life ……
Subject thereto the whole of my personal estate shall be
converted into money and the proceeds thereof invested and the
income arising therefrom paid to my said wife during her life
and on her decease out of such personal estate there shall be 
paid the following legacies – that is to say:-
Ten pounds (£10) to the trustees for the time being of Greeba
Wesleyan Methodist Church ……….
Ten pounds (£10) to the circuit stewards for the time being of
Peel Wesleyan Methodist Circuit …..
The residue of my personal estate shall be divided into two
halves one of which is herinafter called “My half” and the
other of which is hereinafter called “My Wife’s Half”.
As to my Half:-
Ten pounds (£10) shall be paid thereout to my brother John Creer
for the purpose of erecting a headstone to my sister Ellen Creer
Thirty pounds (£30) to my said brother John Creer ….
Thirty pounds (£30) shall be paid to each of my following
sisters That is to say:- Margaret wife of Matthew Creer
Ann wife of James Creer Sarah wife of Robert Cubbon
Christian wife of Thomas Kewin Mary wife of Robert Shimmin
Emily Creer ………
If any of the above named sisters of if my brother John Creer
die in my lifetime the legacy bequeathed to the persons so
dying shall go to his or her children living at my decease in
equal shares …………….
Thirty pounds (£30) Equally between my nieces Amy Preston and 
Minnie Preston If one of them die in my lifetime her share to
go to her sister ……….
Thirty pounds (£30) to the children living at my decease of my 
sister Catherine Crellin ……..
Thirty pounds (£30) to Catherine daughter of the said John 
Creer and the residue of my half shall be paid to the said John
Creer absolutely……….
As to my Wife’s Half:-
To pay the same to such person as my wife shall by any deed or
will by her notwithstanding coverture executed direct and appoint
and failing such appointment or so far as the same shall not
extend ………..
To pay thereout:- Twenty pounds (£20) to Emily Peter daughter
of John Peter of Douglas……….
Fifty pounds (£50) to John Arnold Garret son of William Henry
Garret and Norah Jane Garret …………
One hundred pounds (£100) to Mary Teare relative of Margaret
Ann Creer and wife of William Teare (Slieuwhallyn) Patrick..
One hundred pounds (£100) equally between such of the three 
daughters (Lily, Eleanor, and Isabella) of Eleanor Collister
formerly of Mount Havelock Douglas as shall be living at the 
decease of the survivor of me and my said wife ……..
To transfer the residue of the my wife’s half to the said
Norah Jane Garrett absolutely if living at the decease of the
survivor of me and my said wife but if she be then dead to her
children then living in equal shares ……….
I declare that the persona estate so bequeathed includes the
sum of five hundred pounds (£500) amount of a bond and security
charged on a portion of Ballachurry and now vested in me by
assignment from the administrator of Honora Kelly deceased
I also declare that the benefit hereby given to any female or
to which any female shall become entitled by virtue thereof shall
be for the sole and separate use of such females free from marital
control debts and engagements ……….
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this
26th day of August one thousand nine hundred

Know all men by these presents that the several persons 
whose names are subscribed hereto do hereby severally own
and acknowledge to have received from John Creer of 
Kerrowglass German surviving executor of the will of William 
Creer formerly of Ballacurry Kerrowglass German who died on
the second day of April one thousand nine hundred and
fifteen and probate of whose will was on the tenth day of
May one thousand nine hundred and fifteen granted to his
widow Margaret Ann Creer and his brother the said John Creer
the amount of the several legacies set opposite their
respective names at foot hereof such legacies being payable
on the decease of the said Margaret Ann Creer who died on the
fifteenth day of July one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
four and the said several parties hereto in consideration
thereof hereby release and discharge the said John Creer
surviving executor as aforesaid and the estate of the said
William Creer from any further claim liability or demand in
respect thereof in witness whereof the have hereunto
subscribed their names this twenty fifth day of April one
thousand nine hundred and twenty five……
