I Arthur Matthews of the parish of German Gentleman make my will as follows.
I leave to my wife Christian Travenna Matthews all my real and person estate
of every description and appoint her executrix hereof hereby revoking all
former wills made by me.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this tenth day of
February One thousand eight hundred and eighty three.  Arthur Matthews.

At a court held at Douglas 18 Sep 1916:
The annexed paper writing dated 10 day of Feb 1883 having been proved
to be the last will and testament of Arthur Matthews late of Glenmoar
St John's in the parish of German Gentleman decease who died on the 6th day
of July 1916 at GlenMoar St Johns aforesaid Christian Travenna Matthews also
of Glen Moar St Johns aforesaid widow the relict to the testator the
executrix therein named is sworn well and truly to fulfil
and execute the same and to administer the personal estate of the said
deceased according to law.
Chas Callow a judge of the said court.
Christian T. Matthews, John E. Moore and John H. Clarke took out bond in the
amount of £300 to the King on 16 day of Sep 1816.
