To His Honour Stewart Stevenson Moore His Majesty’s First
Deemster and Judge of the said Division
The humble Petition of Margaret Creer
of Sunnyside Lodge in the parish of
Onchan widow and William Henry Creer
of the same address Clerk in Holy Orders
Sheweth:
John Creer (husband and father of your petitioners
respectively) late of Sunnyside Cottage in the parish of
Onchan and formerly of the Clypse in the said parish farmer
died at Sunnyside Cottage aforesaid on the thirteenth day of
August 1918 having first duly made and published his last
will and testament bearing date the ninth day of March 1909
whereof he appointed your petitioner executors
Wherefore your petitioner humbly pray
a hearing hereof and that this court
may be pleased to grant Probate of the
said Will to your petitioners and
your petitioners will ever pray etc etc

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be
holden at Douglas on Monday the 7th day of
October 1918 at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon whereof
all proper parties and person to have due notice.

I John Creer of the Clypse in the parish of Onchan hereby
revoke all wills and testamentary instruments heretofore
made by me and declare this to be my last will. I appoint
my wife Margaret Creer and my son William Henry Creer
(hereinafter called “my trustees”) to be the executors
and trustees of this my will.
I bequeath all my personal estate of whatever description
to my said wife absolutely.
I devise all my real estate unto my trustees their heirs
and assigns upon trust to permit my said wife to enjoy
the rents and profits thereof during her life she keeping
the same in good tenantable repair and condition and insured
against fire and also paying all interest on any mortgage
or mortgages now affecting or substituted from time to time
for those now affecting the same.
And I empower my said wife during her life by any deed
to deeds to lease my said real estate or any part thereof
to any person or persons for a term not exceeding ten
years so that there be reserves upon every such lease the
best rent that one can reasonably be obtained for the same.
And I empower my trustees from time to time to raise moneys
on mortgage of my said real estate for the purpose of
paying off any mortgage or mortgages now existing or
from time to time substituted for those now existing and
affecting my real estate.
And upon the death of my said wife my trustee shall sell
my said real estate by public auction and shall divided the
moneys arising from such sale after payment thereout of all
moneys charged by way of mortgage on my real estate in
manner following namely as to two hundred and fifty pounds
part thereof to my said son William Henry Creer as to
one hundred pounds part thereof to my daughter Catherine
Anna Creer as to one hundred pounds part thereof to my
daughter Eliza Jane Creer and as to one hundred and fifty
pounds part thereof to divide the same equally between my
sons Robert Charles Creer, George William Creer and Arthur
Creer.
And shall pay the residue of the said moneys (if any) to
my said sons William Henry Creer and Arthur Creer and my
said daughters Catherine Anna Creer Eleanor Margaret
Creer and Eliza Jane Creer in equal shares provided always
and I hereby declare that it shall be lawful for my said
wife by her will to appoint any person on her death to be
a trustee of this my will to set with the said William
Henry Creer of if he be then dead to act alone in executing
the trusts hereof.

subscribed my name this 9th day of March
one thousand nine hundred and nine.
